Godzilla is on repeat for me. Such a tune.

Yeah, Godzilla is dope. Music video is heat too.

Hamza and Higher Brothers been on repeat for awhile now. Anyone else have some music that's similar to Hamza and/or Higher Brothers to recommend? I guess 88rising has a lot more Asian rap to check out, but IDK where to find music similar to Hamza.

Kevin Abstract is actually gay and raps about it too.

Heath Ledger with some dreads
I just gave my nigga head
Standing on my two legs
Fuck what that nigga done said
Bruh, I don't fuck with no white boys
'Less the nigga Shawn Mendes
I been off and I been dead
Bad as hell, I don't bench press
High school, they ain't fuck with me
Now the critics don't fuck with me
My own fam ain't fuck with me
But Viceland did fuck with me
I'm the only popstar with no money
Can't drive, so I'm still running
Uber takin' all my show money
But that's okay, I got more money
Not enough to get my teeth fixed
So my boyfriend in the street, bitch
In the moonlight I get seasick
Did all this shit in the weekend
We was up all late tweakin' (yeah!)
Ice Cube on a Friday, Chris Tucker on a Friday
Michael Cera on a Friday, Jonah Hill on a Friday
Rockin' Leo's blood diamonds
Sucked off on the highway
Police right behind me
Like a nigga stole his OJ
Okay, I don't play
Got the same last name as O.J

🔥🔥🔥🔥

Love me some Brockhampton

Keep a gold chain on my neck
Fly as a jet
Boy, better treat me with respect

If anything, the fact Kevin can rap "I just gave my nigga head" and the thinkpieces don't come out of the woodwork is a sign of how progressive this have become.

I honestly want someone to go to a Brockhampton show and film the crowd as that line comes up.

Considering they open up their tour in Denver I just might do that.

Does Frank have a history of being an insufferable troll and homophobic? Even if Tyler is being sincere on his album, people questioning it seems completely warranted.

"Tyler isn't gay because he's homophobic"

You're telling me that's the logic real-life people are using? Hahaha.

As far as his "insufferable trolling", yeah he's done his fair share of griefing. But he also did shit like this, in 2015, years before the gay rumors:

Like it or not this is the most bold and outright endorsement of anything LGBT in mainstream hip-hop, and it is presented as markedly sincere. Here's an interview with Earl Sweatshirt from 2013 where Earl mentions how Tyler "likes little white boys right now". And of course the tidbits mentioned in this thread and covered in virtually every music outlet.

Yeah, there's a possibility that Tyler is trolling. But if he is, he's been with it for the long haul. Did Tyler leave leave hints about being queer for nearly five years, before finally falsely coming-out in 2017, and likely alienating both his friends who are uncomfortable with idea of him being gay as well as his (gay or otherwise) friends uncomfortable with him lying about being gay, in a grandly concocted scheme to boost the sales for his fourth album? I really, really doubt Tyler is smart enough for that.

I agree with the above.

Tyler came out, but why should people be saying he's trolling because he's not being gay enough? He used Flower Boy to say what he wanted and I haven't seen anything that means a retraction. Tyler's been one of those figures in hip-hop who's love life doesn't make the news, so we have no idea what his relationship status is or what his history is.

Should people be dubious? Yeah, Tyler's the kind of person that fucks around and pulls pranks and does weird shit, but all the shit he's pulled has never been actively malicious. Everything he did during the OF era (the flippant responses to his use of "faggot", the Tegan & Sera rape joke, etc) I can attribute to him being an edgy teen who suddenly ended up with a shit-ton of attention and edgy teenage fans. Since "Wolf", he's appeared to mature and handle his subject matter better.

Finally, going off the final line in Slate Soda's post, Tyler might not be a genius, but it doesn't take one to know the immense backlash that'd happen if Tyler pretended to come out as gay or bi. That's some "fuck up your legacy" type backlash.

Oh so the only reason people were saying he ain't gay was because he's said a lot of homophobic shit?

Huh

So nothing based off of actual facts? Like him sayin issa joke?

Huh

Doesn't strong aversiveness and antipathy towards LGB(T) often happen when people are confused about their sexuality before they come out? I don't know if that's a stereotype or something that actually happens as people are trying to navigate around social norms (i.e. heterosexuality) and figure out how they feel, but I feel like I see it often enough in media.

I don't know if it necessarily changes my opinion of him if he's gay, or pretending to be gay, or not. Dude's 26 now and has conducted himself with the intellect, maturity, and poise of someone half that age for his entire professional career, and OF didn't get popping until this dude was into his 20s. Whether he's a hypocrite or explains his transgressions as being someone who was discovering himself, I'm not about to retroactively strip dude of responsibility for being someone who was in a position of power and a role model and used it to spread hate and pretend it's cool to be a professional delinquent. FOH, Tyler.

I never really suggested otherwise and didn't dismiss that he's sincere; I was mainly referring to naively comparing this to Frank's situation, as if Tyler doesn't have a history of inflammatory and attention-seeking behavior, so people can't act surprised when others are skeptical that maybe this is just another of his antics.

Any of yall ever just go through and add 21 new projects in an hour by pure chance of finding three artists you like then clicking related artists and going down a rabbit hole?

Is this new ugly god worth a listen?
He's like a parody of a trapper. The self-deprecating humor and short songs make it a nice change of pace. In addition, he seems to have a firm idea of what his sound is considering he produces 7 out of the 10 tracks on the album.

I've listened to it once through already and I'm pleasantly surprised. I agree with Torre that he's different enough to keep you engaged, funny ass lines too

Hoping that it's not though.

And by the way, that first track with Price wasn't good.

EDIT: LOL, that Adult Swim track is on Sean Price's newest album. See?

only you guys could actually get MAD at doom for releasing some loosies for free, it's ridiculous

Technically, they're not free as AS seems to have stopped allowing people to download the songs. But, I dug the tracks. I can see why people would get mad though, Doom's disappeared for 8 years and has now re-appeared with a bunch of features instead of the myriad of projects people have confirmed he's worked on. Out of all these stories of projects, everyone has said that the projects are in DOOM's hands to finish up and nothing has been revealed showing DOOM has interest in getting those projects out the door. It's frustrating when a guy who's delivered classic after classic seems more interested in hawking his line of socks and hats than new music.
