I just hope they focus on titles people are not talking about (Dreams/Wild) and save the bigger games for PSX. Would be great to see a new a game from Arrowhead (Helldivers 2 or new IP) published by SIE.

And also believe.

I think the world and mechanics of Helldivers are really good and would translate great to a FPS in the style of Left 4 Dead. Co-op missions where you fight off the enemies in the name of Super Earth

Hey Sony, Fatshark did a L4D-like (Vermintide) and they are in Stockholm too, put these studios to work togheter and make this happen.

I miss L4D

I thought people were just presuming Sony Europe would be having a Paris Games Week conference. I had no idea it was actually announced.

It's possible, Sony has always announced hardware price cuts an the European events. It's possible the slim will be discontinued and the Pro will take that price point.

I personally doubt it will happen. The PS4 is still selling well.

It's possible?

It's just as possible as Sony announcing Vita2 next year.

Exactly, it's possible but it's highly improbable.

Sony has a habit of announcing price cuts and hardware revisions at their European events.

We will know in about 2 or 3 weeks as retailer leaflets get leaked.

I like my Pro but the thing is to way too big and obnoxious looking to become the de facto PS4 model. Unless they're replacing the Slim with a Slim Pro model (and having just 1 PS4 model) and just dropping both the Slim and Pro entirely I don't see it happening. Maybe next year.

This will be the last chance for them to announce new Move controllers before Skyrim VR launches. Hoping for good things!

I'm probably very very VERY alone in saying this, but... can we have a new Pursuit Force game and/or HD collection Sony?

If not, Shenmoo Heytch Dee?!? Please! :p

Lol Seriously speaking, I look forward to hearing more about Detriot, really enjoyed the EGX demo, it (by far) left the biggest impression for me compared to the other AAA demos...

I've heard about good impressions of Detroit from EGX. It may turn out to be a sleeper (relative to other AAA games around it) hit.

Can't handle each day as this draws closer. I'm completely convinced it's either this or PSX that they announce Shenmue HD. All the rumor arrows point to these.

Yeah, I'm also not in the US and I think that they should just focus on E3 and PSX. Having a couple of strong shows per year is better than 3-4 "eh.... okay" conferences.

I agree that we want punchy conferences. It could be argued that PGW is higher profile outside of the enthusiast PS fan. Especially for mainstrem press.

Can we expect TLOU2 here or is that being saved for E3 2018?

No, not PGW. I wouldn't even put a dollar on it.

Now, E3 versus PSX is a different story.

Naughty Dog really wanted it at PSX because they love the show so much, so Sony agreed.

However, TLOU2 definitely lost a lot of eyeballs because E3 is WAY bigger. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony wants TLOU2 at E3 this time.

A lot of games from TGS wouldn't really fit well in Western Conferences.

As for PGW, I get it. In my ideal world, there would only be PSX and E3.

But I wonder if Sony is doing this to combat maybe X1 and Switch sales before the big Black Friday rush? To say "Hey, pick up a PS4 this holiday and expect to see THESE games on PS4!"

Dunno. Why PGW this year and not last?

I've heard about good impressions of Detroit from EGX. It may turn out to be a sleeper (relative to other AAA games around it) hit.

I think it could be more, especially if they closely tie heavy rain to it (as that did really well in Europe) and similar games (like telltale/until dawn) have been popular enough within the timespan.

If they communicate well enough that it's going to be the biggest game within the branching narrative genre, I think it'll do really well as long as the game itself delivers on this.

Detroit is awesome. If the full game is as good as the demo then it's going to be absolutely amazing.

Tbh, that would be my only concern, because it does boast itself to be massively ambitious with all these choices, it all reminded me of how the demo Fahrenheit was communicated before release (with having all these crazy decisions - consequences) and as much as I love that game, but overtime I only really love the first half whenever replaying (I usually stop around the kid stealth sections) the opening is still one of the greatest out there in gaming, but man does the game really struggle to maintain that and live up to those ambitions set out by the demo.

In fairness, gameplay-wise Cage's games have gotten progressively better (including B:TS's hit and miss/deviations it was still solid), and I do really like how he still puts sinteractions/novelty/some puzzles at the forefront (rather than it being more about cutscenes and qte's back and forth like telltale post-walking dead season 1, which has just gotten really stale for me).

Overall though it seems very promising, I doubt that it won't be an interesting experience in one way or another once all is said and done, I played the demo twice in a row and it's so impressive how immediately captivating and on-point everything from the sound/music/visuals/animations etc was and how it flowed. But yeah, gotta be weary about vertical slice's/demo's and it's indicativeness of the final game, hope it works out for them.

Gosh, next year we'll be getting vampyre too! I haven't played the latest entry to life is strange but the original game was good. King's quest is brilliant too! Still need to play dreamfall chapters too. Ahh!

My expectations for this show are the lowest they can get.

Sony will keep all their big guns for PSX or E3 next year.

Basically

All I expect is some updates/trailers from their third party partners

Some indie games

And Super best Friends LP Detroit.

Eh, I think it will appear at both PSX and E3. The announcement at PSX was fine.

It has to be content related. They just didn't have enough to justify a show. To be more specific, I'm talking about content tailored to Europe.

That is why I think the "they are holding back for PSX/E3" miss the point. TGS and Gamescom/PGW have separate content. Those shows aren't going to impact PSX and E3 all that much. They can have stuff like Detroit/GT Sport/Dreams/etc... headline PGW and still have stuff like TLoU PT II/God of War/Spider-Man/etc... headline PSX. Plus, both shows can have different announcements. A game like Wild at PGW and MLB for PSX, for example.

I think it could be more, especially if they closely tie heavy rain to it (as that did really well in Europe) and similar games (like telltale/until dawn) have been popular enough within the timespan.

I still need to play Heavy Rain, Beyond and Until Dawn. Got some catching up to do before Detroit hits. :p
