Variety has their weekend preview up before Deadline this week.

Hitman's Bodyguard is tracking $15-20M this weekend. Logan Lucky is tracking anywhere from $5-12M, with the high single digits being most likely.

Annabelle Creation could conceivably repeat at #1 depending on its drop and where The Hitman's Bodyguard lands.

Thor Ragnarok Youtube views continue to be crazy high.

I'm starting to wonder if we'll get 5 superhero films over $300M domestic this year.

Logan and LEGO Batman missing the mark then?
Edit: Shit, you aren't kidding with the Thor numbers. Looking at it compared to GOTG2 and it is far ahead of that. Then even ahead of Justice League and almost as much as Last Jedi. Bonkers

Ya. You could chalk the first trailer up to people being curious, and the Zeppelin song, but that second trailer is only a few weeks old and almost has as many views.

Yeah, but I think it's also one of his weird experiments in alternative distribution, too.

I'm just happy he's back. My editor said it's basically Soderbergh's "Fast and sort of Furious" so I'm all in.

It looks good. Channing Tatum has had one of the more unexpected career paths given his start as generic eye candy.

Some people legit keep watching movie trailers for the music. It's kinda nuts. It's why those Suicide Squad trailers have so many views. Kids are too lazy to search for Bohemian Rhapsody.

I gotta admit I'm riding that Ragnarok hype train hard.

Also, Logan Lucky's budget is 30M. It can be profitable in the long run if it opens with 10M but this is definitely not what they are hoping for.

No one's expecting a Magic Mike hit here, but if it opens below 10M then Soderberg is gonna have to rethink his next project a bit.

Grizzlyjin

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
I know Logan Lucky is reviewing well, but something about the marketing has just been off-putting to me. Can't put my finger on it.

Ragnarok is going to be huge. Definitely bigger than The Dark World or Doctor Strange's openings.

Suicide Squad made a ton of money though.

I don't know. It seems like everything for Thor has been on point so far. The Ragnarok > Homecoming people might not be completely crazy (domestically).

I've been in the Thor Ragnarok over Homecoming camp, as well. I'm just talking trailer trends. Or just YouTube trends. Music seems to outclass everything else.

Heck, I think I was saying it'd top JL's domestic, but Wonder Woman changed that conversation. Still think they'll be close.

There's a New York Times article about the picture linked in the review I posted upthread. It suggests that the way he's got the distro set up, the road to profit (and profit sharing) is a lot shorter than it would be otherwise.

Also I guess the marketing has basically been all Soderbergh. Nothing was tested before it went out.

I don't know if I was one of those, but I'm damn certain Black Panther will do it.
