Skells/Dolls were the 1st to really make me feel like i was piloting a mecha with a controller.
Just thinking of playing more of this game angers me... and i couldnt get to the point of riding a skell. And i purchased a WiiU to play this game...
agree they were wonderful to both ride and fly. skells and how fast you're able to run across the land made this game a joy to explore. I also loved that you could just auto run to anywhere and view the enviorment at your lieasure something I really misssed when I played Breath of the wild recently.Skells are one of my favourite game mechanics in any game. They just felt so good to control and were so beautifully realized graphically. I would love if there was even a single moment in XC2 where you got to control a mecha.
What gets me in X is characters like L and Cecillia: They have nothing to do with the story (though at least you meet L during an actual story mission while Cece is in a prereq mission), they're both the only characters of their race to show up in the game, they both feel like they're parts of content that was cut (Cece even gets an actual cutscene in one of her affinity mission, which is more than I can say for most of the cast), and it's like, at a certain point why not just cut those characters altogether, or at least make them members of a race that actually exists in the game.
There also seemed to be a pretty big gap between the main narrative and whoever was writing the side quest stories, because you ended up with stuff likePeople being upset because their families weren't allowed to come on the ark, but then like, a literal convicted serial killer somehow managed to get on board? What?

I really do hope that the next game is x-2.with more pop mech idols
The game can expand on so much more with how they left off.
I want my planet sized Mira mech
Crap I legit forgot that thread.Next game is a fantasy RPG.
I want a redo of Xenogears/Xenosaga that gets all six episodes before X-2, but X-2 would be pretty good too.
Me too but I never finished either one. I feel deeply ashamed.I really like both Xenoblade and Xenoblade X
Shit.
Finished the video and it looks like equipment still doesn't show up on characters. I'm out if that's the case. One of the best parts of the last 2 games and almost necessary in this one with how weak the character designs are. Really disappointing if that's how it ends up.
Xenoblade surprised and became one of my top 10 games of the last decade, but X was such a mess. This is not instilling much hope that they can meet the bar set by the first game.
It's been in every recent monolithsoft game, including the monolithsoft-adjacent BotW. So it'd be a strange omission in the final version...Shit.

I'm also concerned for this, but it seems like if it were in the game we would have seen even a hint of it by now. Maybe that's what was cut out to get the game to market? Maybe there's some kind of deal with the new character designer? I don't know. I'm just very concerned. It's been in every recent monolithsoft game, including the monolithsoft-adjacent BotW. (I'm more concerned by the framerate)
The hud you see in combat is dictated by the needs of the battle system... so if the hud has problems......
I honestly couldn't imagine character design being a deal breaker if the original game was one of my favorites.
The game is supposedly less than 4 months away from release, and there is barely any substantial marketing for it. It's pretty damn Nintendo®. There hasn't been a good constant flow of proper marketing in Japan or outside of Japan since the reveal in January, there have been several detailed gameplay segments at events, but they are targeted at people who are already interested in the game. The trailers are pretty weak so far, and there's nothing that properly informs potential audiences why they should be excited for this. Pretty amazing effort.
I loved the presentation and story of XBC.
If you want a X 2 you will have to wait for that, this is Xenoblade 2, it is more focused on the story like Xenoblade 1 with more of the X exploring (its built upon the X tech/engine at least).
I am glad that it's a (spiritual) successor to Xenoblade 1 and not X (even when it does learn from X) and it isn't a stepback in any way for what it is. It looks to me like X fans are salty because it's not X 2.
Also the characters look much more like the artworks, thats something Monolithsoft didn't accomplish with X or Xenoblade. For me it's a step up in this regard.
Yeah, liking them both doesn't have to be mutually exclusive.
I loved XBC for a number of reasons; it was a fairly original premise for a JRPG (the world as titans, etc) and the characters were strong as well. It cut a lot of fat from a lot of other JRPGs (don't have to return to complete a quest, fast travel to landmarks, change time of day to any time) and also had a surprisingly engaging story and of course the amazing soundtrack. The gameplay hook that I liked the most though was the exploration; I loved getting experience for discovering a new landmark, or a new "special" area. Unfortunately, despite the vastness, it was a fairly linear, guided process.
X meanwhile had issues with the story pacing and the silent protagonist didn't help. That being said, the gameplay exploration was totally expanded upon and for me was an amazing experience. The joy of discovery and my OCD-ish tendency to fill in the entire map and hexagon was the guiding factor rather than the story and characters, but I still loved it. Having said that, I do think that while X's story was somewhat lackluster and seemed definitely an "Episode 1" to a larger story, the world/universe building especially building New LA up with all the other alien races, discovering the politics and social constructs of each race was fantastic and IMO way deeper than XBC's. But I get that it's not for everyone. That plus the Sawano soundtrack which ranges from Fantastic to WTF definitely gives a mixed experience. But I gotta tell ya... getting the flight module for the first time and finally reaching that peak in Primordia I'd been eyeing for 40+ hours... it's one of my most memorably gaming moments of last/this gen.
I'm hoping XBC2 mixes the story, characterization and soundtrack with SOME of the exploration gameplay hook of XBCX. If it pulls that off, it has the potential to be a really amazing experience.
I really like both Xenoblade and Xenoblade X
It really looks like you can't have a different equipment showing on the characters.
This doesn't make any sense since the character design is different from the original game characters. The characters tell the story. Unless you liked the original game for anything else but the story.
Right. Especially if this really is going to have an international launch. I thought the first trailer was okay, but the second had rather poorly mixed in clips of the voice acting (in English, which is the most watched version) and that doesn't help. I don't think this really needed two long battle demos either. One of them should've gone into some of the other things you can do with NPCs, preferably the E3 demo since that looks like it was earlier on. At this point this won't reach anyone but those already interested despite the bad main character design.
It's in line with the first game.As a person who hasn't seen much of/played the original Xenoblade and didn't enjoy X. Does Xenoblade 2 seem more in line with the first or X in terms of game progression/overall feel?

Her partner is directly referenced, so no.
I didn't realize so many people wanted a sequel to X tbh.
A game is a game. Unless the only thing you care about when you play Xenoblade is the story (which, why?) then I don't really understand how that could be a deal break if you loved the first one and this looks effectively similar.
There are plenty of games I've loved where I've disliked the character design. I don't think I've ever not purchased something I was into because I didn't like the way the characters looked.

Chronicles ended perfectly/naturally. It didn't need a sequel. X on the other hand ended with a ton of things intentionally left unanswered and teased, and a massive sequel bait ending.
X just screams "Episode 1". It was such a detailed and interesting world they set with a bunch of characters and plot points that can be deeply expanded upon. It's very unlike Monolithsoft to leave so many things blatantly unanswered like that without at least a sequel in mind.

Was there ever anything mentioned by the developer, about a possible X sequel?
I absolutely need it in my life.
Hope it will come after Chronicles 2.
I love both Xenoblade games equally, each for their own reasons.

It's gotten about the same as Odyssey and that game is coming out in two months. That's not an issue.
Yea I don't think this game is coming out this year.
Oh it definitely is. T_T

Mario doesn't need marketing. It sells itself. This game needs it badly.
RIP
Seems super rushed and kind of low effort from Monolith Soft.
Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm. The problem isn't Monolithsoft's effort. I think the game will be really good.
They aren't gonna drop a Mario without marketing, your gonna see it explode when it hits September and OctoberMario doesn't need marketing. It sells itself. This game needs it badly.
It has about as much impact as the original xbGame doesn't seem to have the same impact as earlier entries. I don't know if it's marketing or Monolith's fault. This does feel rushed though.
