No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again revealed (Switch, UE4)

I liked the open world in the first game, but a lot of people complained about it, so I doubt they go back to that.

I hope they go back to an open world this time, as it would make the world feel more real. I think given the tech now, it should be fairly easy to achieve a small but well realized open world for the game.

Granted, it's just a quick and dirty comparison, but now I really don't see the similarities to Stranger Things' logo.

I've published them here, they were sent out by Grassoppher

Travis Strikes Again: first artworks

Did they happen to provide higher-res versions of the concept art? I made a wallpaper based on the clash art, but since I had to upscale it a little, some of the details aren't as nice as they could be.

???

What controversial scene in Bayo 2??? I don't rememeber... lol

I'm guessing it was the Rodin fight where he does a move that some suggested looked like he..."assaulted" her?

Yeah, the one with Ronin doing Akuma's Raging Demon that had to be explained to people because they couldn't get the reference and Bayonetta's magic hair that this also happened in the original Bayonetta on 360/PS3 as well.

But considering it was on a Nintendo console it was seen as controversial even though people were worried Nintendo was going to censor the game. lol

Do what? Its not like Nintendo hasn't intervened in the past to lessen the blow of perceived naughty content.

No need to raise your shields, I"m just being diligent before making a purchase.

You realize NMH 1 and 2 were both Nintendo exclusives when they were originally developed, right?

Also, Killer 7.

Hell, Nintendo Published Conker's Bad Fur Day on the N64...

This hasn't actually been a thing other than them not wanting their Rated E characters in M situations...

Let's also not forget that Microsoft censored Conker's Bad Fur Day on the Xbox.

Nobody thinks there's a reason why the name is Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes instead of No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again?

It seems really odd for it to be backwards all of a sudden.

Suda is crazy. He probably just wanted to call it Travis Strikes Again, but was encouraged to attach the NMH name to it. Let's not forget Desperate Struggle abbreviates to NMH2:DS. Which makes it seem like it could be a Nintendo DS game.

NMH and Hotline Miami is the crossover I didn't know I needed but it makes so much sense.

I want to add, PS3 version is the only way for PAL console owners to play NMH1 uncensored without modding

The PAL Wii version had better framerate though, because of the removed blood splats

Modding the Wii was trivial and importing the US version was really cheap at the time.

I keep looking at the shortening and it's TSA. Makes me think of the airport security 😑

I think when NMH hit the shelves you could only modchip or use freeloader on the Wii.
I am not 100% sure

It looks like most people disagree and vouch for the Wii version. PS3 version also has atrocious frame-tearing.

Playing with Wiimote/nunchaku was part of game charm. The move controller did not feel the same thing, plus a lot of people with ps3 did not had one. Also, the game visual feel more at home in the Wii SD output. But a NMH remaster for Switch, with good framerate, would be welcome.

It's a 3D Action game confirmed! It also takes place between No More Heroes 1 and No More Heroes 2. I can't believe so many people questioned it.

An official press release has been sent out for Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, which was unveiled during yesterday’s Nindies Showcase. New details are presented in the announcement.

First, in case there was any doubt, Travis Strikes Again is indeed a 3D action title. Travis Touchdown will be wielding his beam katana once again as he takes on waves of enemies and bosses, and battle Bad Man.

Goichi Suda – otherwise known as Suda51 – will be directing. It’s the first time in ten years that he’s taking on the role.

Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes takes place in a remote countryside of the US one year after the events of the first game, not No More Heroes 2. Bad Man has come for revenge against Travis, who killed his daughter. While they battle, they’re sucked inside the phantom game console, Death Drive Mark II. This was a machine developed by Dr. Juvenille. It’s said those who collect and beat all of the six games will have their wishes granted.

I loved No More Heroes on the Wii, never played its sequel though. I'm in on this, hopefully its physical release. That's going to be awesome.

I assumed from minute one that it'd be like Kingdom Hearts

you've got the core NMH battle system and you fight waves of enemies but the aesthetics and details change depending on the world you're in

Hotline Miami, for example, would have you running through Miami locales real fast to Carpenter Brut music, every one of your attacks is a finisher move, you can kick doors open, and you can throw your sabre - but you're killed in one hit. At which point Travis wakes up on the 1st floor, rationalizes his sudden revival with a little nerd/punk quip about Hotline Miami, and then gets right back at it

Yep that's exactly what I said. I said think of this like Kingdom Hearts and it all makes sense. Same gameplay wherever you go.

Like Kingdom Hearts, you can call this game No More Heroes 1.5

I am a little bit deflated that it takes place between the first two games. So tired of having midquel/interquel games, but I will take whatever I can get. Still excited after all these years!

They literally said in the direct and on Nintendo's website "seven years have passed since the events of No More Heroes". And they also refer to the villain as "The Bad" not "Bad Man". What's with the conflicting info?
