If this was an alpha/EA title, i'd say it could be salvaged and even become great. The space hulk LOOKS perfect, the terminators are on point, and, hybrids aside, even the nids look pretty dang cool.
Problem is all the stuff lacking: soundtrack, gameplay variety, different enemy patterns, more diverse levels, a story that actually makes you care for it (at least a little bit), some purpose for all those relics you keep stumbling on, better hacking, the works.
As is the AI has two modes: ranged, which is used for hybrids, and includes a surprisingly accurate ability to hit a terminator's head square in the eye from the other side of the room, and melee, which is used for almost all nids and translates into "beeline for target, with the occasional dodge on the way". That's it. Warriors and Broodlords might spit on you if too far for melee, but rest assured, they beelining for your squad in very short order. And that makes the enemy intensely predictable, which wouldn't be a great problem... if you werent limited to carrying only one weapon.
The combination of simplistic AI and loadout makes for extremely limited gameplay possibilities, and, due to the lack of absolutely everything else, the game grows stale at a very accelerated pace. Every encounter is the exact same: fire until they stop coming, keep your heavy psyker powers ready for scythe strains, fire the others as desired.
(also ive no idea why they didn't include a melta. or why, unless you rocking the basic bolter, you can't pick sword or axe. or why the axe has the exact same stats as the sword. or why you can't give a hellfire to the apothecary. or why barac cant carry your heavier loadout. or why you can't use claws on a single hand.)
