I feel like if this happened on TV, he would be fired. I don't get why things are different here. Whatever platform he was streaming on should ban him, ESPECIALLY given his large following.
The whole second-language defense thing I half-understand where it's coming from, but it sure as hell isn't a defense fot this, as a non-native speaker myself, I recognize that it's easier for the wrong word to slip out. That's something that I struggled with myself. The thing is, the words I would default to due to lack of vocabulary or inability to find words were certainly not such words. I would say "and stuff" too much, or sometimes default to basic expletives. But in this case, it basically speaks volumes to the kind of childish person he is. It's only a defense for the freudian slip, not for the term that actually slipped out. Unfortunately, expletives are often used as a replacement for other words, so when learning a language, it can become something you lean on. However, there's certainly a huge freaking difference in letting an expletive go at an inappropriate time, and blurting out the n-word at all, so it's not at all a good defense here. This suggests it's a word he often defaults to or uses, and how is that in any way ok?
