Schumer, Pelosi announce deal with Trump to protect young immigrants; No wall

Yea I get that but what is THIS deal. What is Trump getting out of it and whats the incentive for the GOP, especially the ones that have falled in with Trumps rhetoric and his base. What is this rolled in with basically because I cannot believe in a million years there isn't another shoe to drop here.

Trump is getting a win.

That's all that matters to him.

I will cry happy tears if its the DREAM Act. I will thank Trump if he does something good for once. Yes he is shitty but can make a lot of people's lives so much better. Not forgiving him for everything else he has done but I'd see this as a win for all.

I mean, we should wait for details and see how everything shakes out, but it is entirely possible that what Trump gets out of this is 5 minutes of positive attention from people in the room with him. Full stop.

This is scary. Even if it is a good thing, his decisions seem to be to spite his opponents. Just total random spin the wheel on any issue and you get what you get with this guy. I guess the good news is that if he pisses off everyone, a second term is unlikely.

So long wall, and from the looks of things, this could cause a riff between Trump & his base, which would be great. These guys get what they deserve.

Be kind of funny and fucked up if Trump starts seriously working with democrats only for Mueller to swoop in and kick his ass out of the White House.

That would be perfect. Hopefully Republicans impeach him beforehand because they're getting tired and sick of him flipping them off though.

74% of Republicans or something similar want Dreamers to stay in the country anyway.

I hope every major news outlet and Democrat showers him with lavish praise (not us, the politicians)

I want to see how far he's willing to face turn to be loved.

That's really the only knob to turn with this guy. He's a mercenary for attention.

This isn't about Trump though.

Look, 800,000 people had their lives ripped up because of Trump and he threw this onto the GOP. Now Trump is doing the sleazy shit he has done in the pass to make himself look like hes doing good, but the follow up is never there. How many "deals" did he promise or work out for his own party and supporters. And how many succeeded? And now suddenly hes going to work magic for the Dems, just because? With GOP still in control? I just don't want to see people getting their hopes and falling for the same shit his supporters and the GOP has been for the last year or so. This is the equivalent of a PR stunt with no real substance yet but it does have the possibllity of lowering a lot of peoples guards and thinking this is over now and not worth talking about.

It must be tough to both be really racist and have an insatiable urge to be liked by everyone in a multi-racial country. I hope the "be liked by everyone" side of Trump's id keeps winning out for a while.

What did Trump get out of giving the Democrats everything they wanted in the recent standoff over the hurricane/funding resolution, which resulted in the Democrats have more leverage for the December budget negotiations? Nothing, basically. He is not a master strategist. Schumer and Pelosi are far more proficient negotiators than Trump, or anybody in the GOP leadership.

The incentive for the GOP is what I already said. Much of the leadership has already conceded something should be done here, and they don't want to build Trump's wall anyway.

Is it safe to assume that Trump supporters are now deleting all "bad hombre" and "immigrants are bad" posts from their social media and claiming that, like Trump, they've always loved Dreamers, and they want to no wall? And that only those prejudiced Libtards would try to keep immigrants out, unlike good Republicans who have always welcomed and wanted them in the country?

There's no redemption for Trump.

Don't call it a redemption, it's more like a misfired betrayal.

In our little fucked up dimension there are only 4 possible outcomes....

1. Trump gets clocked by Mueller, we deal with the result

2. Rs get fucking tired of getting worked and get rid of Agent Orange

3. Nothing happens, and Dems get a puppet presidency till next election

4. Nothing happens, and TicTac reverts and continues to fuck us

Is this truly truly truly the worst timeline? Will Vegeta continue to get his ass beat?.... Stay tuned for the next episode of Dragon Ball Z

I think GOP will like this deal because they want border security, and a lot of GOP members think a physical wall is absurd.

Awesome. Parties should be talking and making deals more.
Just want to point out, congressional GOP leadership had nothing to do with this.

Democrats were able to get legislation signed by Bush when they held the House for two years, and were very inclusive of Republicans during Obama's first two years. Plenty of Republican ideas and amendments were included in the Affordable Care Act. The party just decided to vote against it anyway.

Trump circumventing Ryan and McConnell says nothing for the party's ability to play ball, they're just as rotten as ever. Remember that the Dem-led Senate passed a bipartisan immigration reform bill in 2013 by a wide margin, and the Republican-led House refused to even give it a vote. Had they passed it then we wouldn't be in this mess today.

GOP Congress is the x factor gumming up the works.

Good news if it actually happens.

Trump is still a vile, hateful old idiot racist. Anyone who says anything about a pivot can shove a broomstick up their ass and pivot on that.

Good press.

He's not obsessed with Fox and Breitbart. They're just yes men. He's obsessed with NYT, CNN, etc... He shits on them so much because he craves their perceived approval

Since we know Trump only goes along with whatever the last person who spoke with him said; I take the latest events mean Pelosi/Schumer have kidnapped Trump and are moving him around the White House every other hour so nobody else can find him and speak with him.

No one in NYC likes him. All he's ever wanted is for the Manhattan upper crust to like him, they never will. Because he's always been Trump. All of this makes him feel like maybe they like him.

Which is why he is so receptive to Schumer. A quintessential NY Politican that has enormous clout in the state.

Whose support and attention, Trump craves.
