I have two US and two PAL units preordered.

I'm considering cancelling the Game UK one as it comes out to around $101 shipped.

Before I cancel, anyone want to claim this one? PM me if you want it at-cost, we'll work it out.

So when is Amazon.com going to update the preorders on this? Still says delivery date pending with less than 2 weeks to go. I really hate buying Nintendo products from them.

So yesterday hanging out with my friends, one of my friends walks in, hands me a bag, says happy birthday, and its a goddamn NES Classic.

I haven't been following the NES Classics (already have SNES preordered), but its still extremely hard to find isn't it? I mean he must have spent way too much money on this...

It is the PAL version it seems and we're in the US, not sure if getting PAL ones is any easier/cheaper?

I just feel bad if he spent a ton of money...

Holy shit! All I can say is that you have a great friend. :)

Sorry to ask but does anybody here know if i can buy a controller extension for the snes mini once it's out? Or even better is there any way to get a wireless controller.
Thanks

You don't have to wait until it's out. The snes mini, like the nes mini, uses the same plug from the Wiimote/nunchuck connection. Extension cables for those are common and available now. They might be labeled NES Mini/Classic extension cables though.

You can also buy wireless controller like this (bottom of post, #shamelessplug)

Still have wii extension cable somewhere so that's Perfect, thanks!

whats the first game you're going to play?
Possibly Star Fox so I can unlock Star Fox 2, Super Castlevania IV since it's one of the few titles I haven't played, or Kirby Super Star since it's one of my earliest gaming memories.

My best friend might come over so he can pick up his SNES Mini & play something as well, so probably will do something big on co-op. Really hope he gets around to playing Super Mario RPG, he never played it before so I can't wait for him to discover it for the first time.

I was thinking about this... since they coded in an unlock system into the software for Starfox 2, wouldn't it be rad if there were other things to unlock? Like, secret games? Like, you beat DKC1, return to the menu and... "Congratulations, you have unlocked Donkey Kong Country 2!"

Man that would be awesomeballs.

Hard to say. But I guess Super Mario World, even if I will only play it for a few minutes before moving on to the next game.

A Link to the Past, Final Fantasy III (VI) and especially Super Castlevania IV are the big favourites though. Not sure how many times I've played thru Super Castlevania IV, and yet I never seem to get tired of it.

I should play some game I haven't played though, like Yoshi's Island or the two Kirby games, but I'm more excited about the ones I've already played. How silly isn't that?

And I'm still bummed out that Chrono Trigger isn't included, argh.

Maybe not games but I would love to see unlockable frames and filters, have a unique unlock art for each game or something.

Pal unit?

Not to rain in your parade, but it could be one of the counterfeit units http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=1402501

Interesting...

So, I checked it out, and it didn't seem to match up with the counterfeit really. So to confirm, I noticed there was a My Nintendo points redemption code thing in the box and I signed in and used it and it worked, I got 300 platinum points for it? If it was counterfeit, I can't imagine they have a way of getting legit point code flyers in the boxes can they?

Yeah, it should be legit then.

It'd be cool if they had unique borders like with certain games with the Super Game Boy. Most of the ones we've seen feel a bit generic.

I'm still kind of surprised they didn't include Super Mario All-Stars. Heck, considering it's 4 games in one, could've been a cheap way to say that there's technically 25 games included.

Mario Kart with my wife.

I'll finally do a full play through pf FFVI I think too. Wishing this had Chrono Trigger. Then it would truly be perfect.

If it's as easy to hack games onto as the NES Classic, Chrono Trigger is definitely going on there, along with DKC2, Seiken Detsetu 3, Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Terranigma, Lufia II, Lost Vikings... So much good stuff too add.

Yea so people who were around for the NES mini. How did your BB, Walmart, Gamestop etc do things?

Did they let people line up the day before.

I have one on preorder but I definitely want to pick up another one and I have Thursday night and Friday free.

Day of I'll probably just mess around with a few games. I completely forgot it was going to be so soon and was already debating taking the day off to dive into Danganronpa V3; maybe I'll do that and alternate with SNES games.

I think long term I'm actually most excited to play Mario RPG (which... I didn't realize was on it till now), since that was something I really wanted to play back in the day but our SNES stopped working (or, at least, that's my memory of it- gonna have to dig that out of my closet someday and see if it actually works). Similarly I'd like to play through EarthBound and FF6, since I've never played those- which is actually the case for most of the games on the list, but I see myself sticking with the RPGs more.

Now I'm actually wondering if my mom will end up using hers for more than LttP and Mario World when I give her hers for Christmas; she doesn't play many games anymore so it'd be interesting to see her branch out too.

Anyone else planning on playing through the games in chronological order? I'll probably play Star Fox first just to unlock the sequel and get it out of the way, but other than that I'm thinking of starting with Super Mario World and F-Zero and progressing through everything as it was released.

I went to BB yesterday while passing by to see if they had anything planned. They'll give out tickets before opening, no midnight release.

Final Fantasy! I've only ever played XIII (which I actually kind of enjoyed), so the one included here will be the best way to finally get my foot in the door for classic (but not 'FF1 grindgrindgrind randombattlerandombattlerandombattle Classic') FF.

Although, I may... Maaaaay play Star Fox first. Played it a bit as a kid and sucked, so I'd like to see how I fare now.

E: oh
well
hmm
Reading BTA's post a bit above me reminded me that Danganronpa V3 takes priority in my "big game" slot. Star Fox is first then, lol! Don't want two big (20+ Hour) games running at the same time.

I'm debating FF6 since I've never played it, but I feel like a better version exists nowadays.

Super Ghouls 'n Ghost will be interesting to play.

Should give Secret of Mana a try as well, but that remake is hitting in a few months....

MMX is always fun to replay, wonder if my friend has played it. Could be fun to show him what it's like.
