I'm totally buying this though. Had lots of fun with 1 but never played 2, despite having them both for years.

Looks more like a remaster than a remake, at least so far. Hope for perfect 60fps without a single drop. Will buy again if course. One of the best games ever.

Not brand new but seems they made the texture sharper and made some minor changes

Such as the neck and bicep area

My need for ZoE 3 is overriding my anger at Konami I'm sorry everyone

Someone in here said they should remake Fist of Mars in 3D. Something I didn't know I wanted till now. What was that mech strategy game on ps2 where you aim? Ring of Red?

OK i love ZOE2 so much - the combat, the animation, the music, the characters - all of it.

BUT
NEVER FORGET:
Konami screwed up the ZOE HD Collection so badly that Hexadrive's programmers had to step in and salvage the PS3 version with a patch that made the game actually playable because it was such a disgrace that it ran WORSE than the original PS2 version.


so i recommend approaching this remake very very cautiously.

Kojima's programmers? I thought it was Hexadrive jumping in for the saving throw back then, which makes their current lack of involvement scary in this case, to be sure.

Same for Silent Hill HD collection. It only had the new awful voices and no FOG AT ALL.
Fans got infuriated which pushed them to settle things with original voice actors and add their voices later and patch the game to add a very little fog which is still much less than the PC version which even had worse fog than the PS2 version.

It did play terrific after the patch though.

Everyone's going on about the zero shift and vector cannon in VR, but let's not forget that there are a couple chapters where Dingo is sharing the cockpit with Ken

I believe any game made before 1997 is "essentially cave man art."
ZOE1 is absolute trash, ZOE2 was a masterpiece. Never seen a series jump in quality so quickly.

Did you notice that trailer is very smartly done and whenever there are fights, the trailer only shows them in 3rd person? They are fully aware that their fights are very frenetic and if they showed the fights in VR they would make people feel sick and dizzy and get a bad impression about the game from the trailer already (unless the VR scenes are only when traveling or exploration and when fights happen it shifts to 3rd person automatically which makes the inclusion of VR limited and useless, which is I really doubt). Very wicked move from Konami.

Technically 1.4 can do 4k/60 at 4:2:0 (10.2 Gbps), but it's probably not worth the effort and consumer confusion to Sony.

Literally just went on an eBay spending spree to buy some of the past gen games I missed due to being a child and having no job and Zoe 2 is probably the one I was most looking forward to playing. Oh well, cannot wait to play this in VR.

The patch didn't just make it playable, they made it look and run awesome.

ZoE is such a great property. It just oozes style and coolness. It's a damn shame it never caught on big enough to warrant additional entries. I would have loved that rumoured ZoE3 taking place in ancient Egypt with mechs everywhere.
