Steven Seagal slams NFL players who kneel during national anthem
Steven Seagal bashed NFL players who took a knee during the national anthem.

“I believe in free speech, I believe that everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, but I don’t agree that they should hold the United States of America or the world hostage by taking a venue where people are tuning in to watch a football game and imposing their political views,” Seagal said during a Wednesday appearance on ITV’s “Good Morning Britain.”

Seagal, speaking from Moscow sporting glasses and black robes, took it as an affront to the American flag.

“I think it’s outrageous, I think it’s a joke, it’s disgusting,” said Seagal, who last year became a Russian citizen.

“I respect the American flag. I myself have risked my life countless times for the American flag and I don’t understand or agree with this kind of behavior. I think it’s an outrage.”

Seagal also defended Trump, who he said was being attacked by a “ton of enemies within.”

“We have these Democrats that have this whole other agenda to kind of — when I say Democrats it’s not just the Democrats, but there are this whole group of left of Obama-ites and people that feel they should overthrow Trump, and any decisions he makes, anything he tries to do, he gets blocked often from the enemies within, so it’s very difficult for him to do anything,” Seagal said.

Seagal also defended Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has been accused of meddling in last year’s U.S. election.

“Let’s be really honest. Every country is involved in espionage. We all spy on each other,” Seagal said. “For anyone to think Vladimir Putin had anything to do with fixing the elections or that the Russians even have that kind of technology is stupid.

Seagal comes off like a prat but he's not wrong on the espionage element. America and the CIA have rigged elections and undermined fair elections of other countries using things like assassinations and coups.

He stated that he "would like to consider [Putin] as a brother", and expressed support for the annexation of Crimea by Russia.[13] In July, 2014, following calls for a boycott, Seagal was dropped from the lineup of the August Blues Festival in Haapsalu, Estonia.[82][83] Estonian musician Tõnis Mägi, the minister of Foreign Affairs, Urmas Paet, and Parliament's Foreign Affairs chairman, Marko Mihkelson, had all condemned inviting Seagal into the country,[83] with Paet stating, "Steven Seagal has tried to actively participate in politics during the past few months and has done it in a way which is unacceptable to the majority of the world that respects democracy and the rule of law."[84] In August, 2014, Seagal appeared at a Night Wolves-organized show in Sevastopol, Crimea, supporting the Crimean annexation and depicting Ukraine as a country controlled by fascists.[85][86] On November 3, Seagal was granted Russian citizenship by president Putin.[87] His views on Ukraine and Russian citizenship caused Ukraine to ban him because he "committed socially dangerous actions".[88]
