Red Dead Redemption II Trailer #2 released!

I cant see how anyone could be complaining about this game graphically. Character models aren't Uncharted 4 level detailed, but that world is going to look absolutely GORGEOUS.

Im also really hoping for only 1 protagonist--tell me ONE characters story. Thats part of what made RDR so special. It was John Marston's story.

Like the first rdr it won't come to PC and they were pretty clear about this.

Red Dead Redemption 1 didn't come to PC because the RAGE engine was a mess at the time. As in held together by duct tape. That was a legitimate reason to keep the game off the platform. "We don't want to" is not and the investors will be livid if they're missing out on hundreds of millions of dollars from the PC audience that they know exists and was extremely profitable last time around.

I'd be pretty confident about RDR2 coming to PC, it's just that waiting 9-12 months seems like it only makes them more money, and probably alleviates their piracy concerns.

It wasn't the most dramatic or exciting trailer but I mean, it's RDR2. The game is going to be fucking great and seeing anything from it makes me excited.

I'm digging the idea of playing a more straight outlaw unlikable type character too. Joel from TLOU is one of the best written characters I've seen and many consider him unlikable. I think Rockstar can do it justice.

Xbox One owners are lucky because they have backward compatibility. Sony may have PS NOW, not as good due to internet connection and lags and you can't get the missing DLCs through it. And they need to offer those 2 free monthly PS NOW games of choice so we can choose this game.

I know its available on PS3, but it wasn't that great of a port. I even think it didn't run at 720p, it was like 640p or something sub HD. Don't want to experience that again.

The first teaser gave me a completely different vibe than this trailer. I liked its quieter scenes, like that one shot with the stars in the night sky with the guy sitting by the fire near the water. That honestly felt more Red Dead Redemption, it captured that feeling of being out in open nature. This felt more Grand Theft Redemption.

I just chekced PSN right now. I found out Red Dead Revolver is available on PS4. I was very surprised tbh. I mean this game is available as PS2 Classics on PS4 but not the second one (as a remaster)? Weird.

Btw, is Red Dead Revolver tied tot he story of the Redemption series?

While the trailer didn't show any gameplay, I really doubt the typical Rockstar open-world structure is going to be that much open-ended, and after BotW I feel it's going to be very much last-gen open-world stuff with a new paint of coat.

Those are both the vibes you'll get from the game. The open world naturalism and simulation contrasted with bursts of violence and a typical Rockstar story. Both of them feel appropriate to what the game will be.

Problem is neither trailer is particularly memorable.

I don't know why, but I expected more, every GTA V trailer was mindblowing at time, this seems just average to me. Anyway the first trailer looked a lot more exciting.

That's all we needed.

Turning Red Dead into a game about outlaw psychos.

Nah fuck that human John Marston story lets make literally GTA With Horses.

Why on earth would anyone want RDR2 to follow in the line of BotW?

Plus, no studio does open world building better than Rockstar.

I have faith that R* will bring something new and unique into RDR2. At the very least it has to one up GTA V. The 3 character protagonist in that really made GTA V unique and Im surprised they aren't doing the same thing here.

Sign me up for the outlaw psychos! The more vile, the better!

I loved Marston like we all did, but I’m tired of the flawed anti-heroes. I’d like to be purely evil, with added character complexity surrounding maybe money, but not mixed motivation. A gang to rob, steal, kill - until they start hunting and turning on each other.

The protagonist does seem like a massive scumbag. I enjoy watching unlikeable bad guys as protags in movies and tv, but I don't actually like playing as one. This has all the chances in the world to show me wrong when it releases but that's the vibe I'm getting from this guy in the trailer.

It's confirmed we're only playing as one person?

Looks much better than GTAV. Pretty terrific for someone who skipped RDR and the ps3 generation, lots of game variety in there

Mmmh... Okay.
Looks like I'm not gonna like the main character much. That sucks since that was also an issue for me with GTAV.

I am getting tired of that sensibility, you want to play as a "bad ass" asshole

Open mission structure before and after mission cutscene. Going back to GTA III school of design. The franchise has been less free-form since.

Watched it again, an analysis that is and the part where the guy hangs off the train car, that looked really nice animations wise. Makes me hope Euphoria is back all the way. Loved how people would hang onto their cars in GTA IV and that was thanks to Euphoria.

Watch Bone Tomahawk on Netflix. There's a particular scene when... well, you'll know it when you get there.

That movie is awful.

I wish people would stop recommending it, it's not a good film. It has one crazy gore moment and the rest of the movie is just garbage.

I'm pretty sure RDR had open mission structure at numerous parts. There just wasn't a huge number of tools you could use.

And honestly, their open world structure makes sense with the world they've built. You naturally come across interesting things no matter what path you take.

The Wild Bunch, Jesse James, and countless crime movies have shown you can do compelling stories and nuanced characters with outlaws, criminals, and killers

I agree.

Who wouldn't?

Like setting up cars to block streets and so on...
Impossible since GTA IV...

I want scripted and open.

Maybe there will be another trailer where it reveals the second major character (good) and this is the main bad guy of the game but we play as him throughout too.

I would imagine Arthur Morgan's character will develop over time throughout the game to become more likable. Considering we're still calling these games "Redemption".

A lot of stories in Rockstar games involve the protagonist trying to get out of their life of crime. No doubt this prequel will tell of the downfall of the Dutch's gang, a lot of which involving Dutch going mad. It will likely put Morgan in a conflicting predicament.

Regardless, I'm perfectly fine with Morgan being a ruthless outlaw. It's not impossible for such a character to be compelling. If anything, they have a much greater chance of becoming a more interesting character than the same played out "I tried to get out, but they pulled me back in" character of Rockstar games.

As much as I rather have one protagonist I really dig this idea. Ever since GTA V I've been wishing for a GTA to come out where one character is the criminal and the other is the cop/detective. Both playable.

I'm not a fan of the western setting, but I hear the story was good in RDR and a good story can carry a game for me so I'm excited for this one despite the weird trailer.
