I'll be willing to bet a decent chunk of posters in this thread hadn't seen any videos from the thatistheplan channel themselves to fully form a well informed opinion (I don't really find him that funny, but the satire is clear). This guy has made his more centric and left-leaning views public on his main channel time and time again, so to be "alt-right in disguise" sounds pretty far fetched.
Anthony's personal political views are pretty moot here imo, he's smart enough to know that /mu/ liked his shit and he bends over backwards to court and grow an audience of dudes who "ironically" are into white supremacy.
EDIT: These are all thoughts I've had for a while, just using this thread as jump off point.

Exactly. That's why this guy has gone beyond acceptable.
My point is that the original claim- satire is invalid if the satirized believe you're with them- is insufficient as a metric for condemning satire. There are other factors that take this beyond acceptable behavior, not the belief some have the satirist is "on their side."

He did this with thatistheplan and eventually those memes go into "fucking sjw cucks" territory.

I haven't expressed the satirical argument in this thread, I don't believe he expresses bigotry, hell recently he was one of few people to label Jay Z's "jew" line in O.J as being anti-Semitic/stereotype perpetuating.

Relative to the rest of the site it's left leaning, and has been more so in the past, there's mentions of that on the board regularly and even threads discussing the phenomenon.
Just compare /mu/ culture to something like /tv/ or /a/, even the thread on the Fantano right now while having some slurs is markedly different.
Also I'm not sure if major album release threads can be seen as representative of the general atmosphere.

There's slurs in the thread, I don't use /mu/ anymore, but generally the atmosphere in the board is left, and has been moreso in the past.
This is probably the fourth time I've argued over how "left" /mu/ is on this site.
They support Fantano and Myke at minimum probably mostly agrees with him on topics.
If they don't cover this on the podcast Myke will prolly discuss it on his Twitter though, and then we'll see.

Its the only board I used to browse where I would see anti-sjw rhetoric ran out of a thread, people defending or pushing left oriented politics, and /pol/types getting trashed on.
