So I have a lot of room in the first dungeon with white exclamation point in those room, and there's nothing in there. The in-game manual says the icon is for dungeon event, any way to make them disappear ?

Two crash so far on PS4 hopefully they get worked out. One a crash back to desktop and one my screen got pink, minimised the game and I closed it.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Started playing yesterday and got 16 hours playtime now. Really, this is a great fucking game - no joke. I'm intrigued in every way except for the story, but it doesn't matter to me

Finding the game to be pretty dam easy but maybe its because I grind for EXP and loot, however the "Fire Boss" almost kicked my ass had to use 2 revives.

Heroic dungeons are just right I think, granted you don't powergrind beforehand.

Had my first crash at 7 hours in. Luckily everything saved but still sucks. Still loving the game though. Combat is so good.

Does this game scratch dat loot itch guys ? I'm in anyway on Switch, but it looked like it could scratch that loot game itch I need on my fav device right now.

It's hard to say if it fully scratches the loot itch, but I do like that there seems to be a decent amount of it so far. I'm used to very high loot drop games like Path of Exile and D3 so it's hard to fully scratch it for me. But for what this game is in comparison, I say it does a good job.

On a different note, are you guys vendoring off all your old gear you no longer use? So far I've kept at least one of everything but I'm starting to think this might be unnecessary.

So, I've been sweating that Mana Infused Deep Iron Ingot for about 10 levels beyond when I should've had it, and finally decided to look it up. Found a pretty decent secret spoiler guide, if anyone else needs any help. I'd recommend against it unless you know you're missing something, though. Most of the stuff in the game is pretty accessible if you're thorough.

Good lawd the difficulty spikes in some of the optional content are ridiculous. The
King Slime thing in the sewers
almost one shots all of my characters. I thought it was because I was two levels behind him but then I go to fight the
fire demon in the Rushlands
and that dude has an AOE that basically one shots my entire party despite my party being at the same level. Don't know if I'm just undergeared or if there's some sort of trick to all this.

Well the loot itch is all about making numbers go up, but just about every item in the game has downsides, so you're always deciding "Is getting 30 damage worth losing 200 hp?" on every piece of gear. Kind of sucks the wind out of the sails when you find new stuff.

I liked this kind of approach to loot design. Straight forward incremental upgrades is too safe and mind numbing, whereas the kind that makes you think about pros and cons can be more rewarding and interesting to experiment.

hmm after clearing the 1st dungeon on heroic, i sold the 2 artifact things and bought the next dungeon's lootbox, didn't even get anything green rarity
apparently it's better to save it for the 1st shadow coin fishing rod? shit man hope i'm not screwed :<

character appearances cost upwards of 100 shadow coins so im sure there will be plenty. Why you would waste it on a loot box is beyond me tho lol.

Fishing Gear and Books for Perk points just seem better since they are permanent unlike gear that I feel like im constantly swapping around.

Can’t help with the slime, but for the fire demon all you need to do is manage your fire stacks. At 5 you’ll take a tone of damage. All I did was use the robots burst 1 whenever one of my guys hit 4 stacks, and I barely took any damage.

Bretto has a perk that makes him get overcharge when he cleanses, and cleanse is a free fast ability (I forget what the game calls them, your basic attacks and defense stances and whatnot)

They are "Instant" abilities.

I am still level 7 after the first dungeon (heroic), so need to unlock more perks and abilities. Dying to play more.

This might be a dumb question but what would I claim my Kickstarter reward under for PS4 region as an Australian; NA or EU? We have our own store so I'm a bit confused.

Also can't decide if I want PS4 or Steam. I think PS4 just for couch lazing, I get too distracted on my PC!

EDIT: Took a punt with EU and it worked. Phew.

Really enjoying the game!

I'm in the second dungeon at the moment. I found a ("special event/curio spoiler") M
mysterious
C
ube
. The riddle is as follows; (riddle spoiler)
"Some boxes give, this one takes, Catch it if you can, And empowerment awaits",
What do I give it? I thought about something fishing related but it seems I can only give it weapons.
Maybe an item from a similar cube, one that "gives"? "Catch it if you can" makes me think of gloves, but I'm afraid of giving the wrong thing and not getting the reward. I also got a sword called "Stonebreaker" and the cube is a piece of stone so that might also be it. Anybody know the right item to present to the cube?

Thanks in advance!

Man, the difficulty spiked when you reach Junk town, went in Heroic and got destroyed by fire affliction and iron golems doing over 200 damage.

Then I went back to town and did a slime sewer mission to get some experience but that final boss has about 2000 HP and does around 300-400 damage and poison affliction.

You can give it anything really...
what happens is itll take a weapon for example, then the cube will disappear and reappear on another part of the map (same dungeon), once you find it again, it will have upgraded whatever you gave it. Turned my items purple, but not 100% sure it always spits out purple.

Anyone has an issue when (rarely) if you tap the A button in combat it registers as two taps?
Wondering if it's the game or the pad.

N.B. First time i noticed, it didn't seem to have any issue with Cuphead or Pyre. Xbox ONE controller on PC.

Ah cheers! Do you know if it also (spoilers surrounding the special event we're discussing)
levels the weapon up?
I have level appropriate weapons for everyone except Calibretto, who has a lvl 3 weapon, so if it levels the item up I'll give it a Cannon. If it doesn't I'll just upgrade my dps machine, Garrison's weapon.
edit: Checked it out and to answer my own question:
It doesn't level up the item, but just like you said it levels up the rarity. I put a blue sword in there and after finding the Cube's new location -
now it's purple and does a ton of damage! Also got a nice trinket from the peaceful, story-telling rat, answering his questions correctly.

One more question; can you exit a dungeon (Heroic in this case) and go back to town to rest (want to replenish those Dungeon Skills) without it resetting?
edit: The answer is yes, you can!

Yeah I figured out that stacks increase damage but it seems like my party was getting destroyed with even one stack on them. Made me think I was doing something wrong.

If slow animations/run speed bother you I can recommend grabbing Cheat Engine and setting some hotkeys for default speed and faster speeds. It's very simple - you just start the game, open CE, load the process and tick "Enable Speedhack" to the right. You can then go to "Settings" > "Hotkeys" to bind a hotkey for default speed (1.000), faster (1.5-2.0) and fastest (2.0+) (Just suggestions - do whatever you feel is appropriate, of course)

Someone in the Divinity 2 thread helped me with this, and after trying speed hack in single player RPGs I'm hooked. Furthermore, I thought CE and speed hack would be somewhat complicated / unstable, but it is super easy, stable, and makes the game more fun to play and less grindy (for me at least)

But enough about that. Anybody know how to see how much phys/magic defense protects you in the form of a percentage (as in how much damage does x phys. def. absorb)? Crit/Haste/Evade shows you the percentage, but Phys and Magic def. doesn't. Trying to compare some rings, some with +stamina and some with phys/magic def. Checked the manual but couldn't find anything.

Thanks in advance!

edit: Another tip on treasure chests in dungeons. I was worried I was missing out on breakable walls, and the goodies inside. Turns out even hidden treasure chests turn up on the map (as long as you've got a dungeon map). Finally, all breakable walls I've found so far glow faintly brownish/"dustish".

I know the game just released, but how involved is the story in this game? I like RPGs a lot, but RPGs that are light on story make me lose interest quick. Trying to figure this out before making the decision to purchase as to not be let down.

I'd say it's servicable, and pretty simple. The interaction between the characters is kinda cute though, and I'd say the PC's and NPC's have personality, and most importantly - the game oozes with style.

This game does so many other things incredibly well. I'm not bothering with paying attention to the story very much. If a good story is the most important draw to you, this might not be for you. If a fresh take on turn based combat combined with a smorgasbord of well-crafted RPG-elements sounds enticing, I'd say go for it. I'm only about 7 hours into the game - so maybe someone who has played a larger portion of the game can chime in.

edit: Sorry for all the questions but I've got three more.

1) Should I sell all unused weapons/armor or am I going to be able to disassemble them for crafting parts at some point? I'm lvl 10 if that matters.
2) What vendor would you advice me on upgrading first? Blacksmith, maybe the alchemist?
3) Greater tome of knowledge. "Grants a single perk point to all heroes" Should I save these until I unlock all companions to get perks for them all? At the moment I am in the second dungeon, and only have 3 heroes.

Again, sorry for all the questions. Cheers guys!

- You can sell unused weapons/armor
- Blacksmith first, I think. Pretty sure you can max the blacksmith out and get crafting in town (rather than having to do it in a dungeon) with just money, whereas I'm pretty sure the other places require items.
- Can't say for sure, but it wouldn't hurt to save them. You'll round your party out soon, and early perks aren't that big of a deal.

Sewer slime boss down.

Garrison does a shitload of damage with a bit of prep. He did 2/5s of the slime's health in the opening round.

Still rocking the default party, because the character designs are awesome.

Thank you so much for your answers! Good to know that I can sell the weapons/armor. I'll go blacksmith first as you said, as well.
Aye, seems like sound advice. Can't wait to round out my party and see what they have in store in terms of skills and perks.

Cheers! :)

One final query: When you guys complete a dungeon on Heroic, do you usually run it again on Legendary? Contemplating if it's worth the time and effort, or if I should just move on to get higher level weapons and items. (Heroic 2nd Dungeon gave me lvl 6-7 items. If I redo the dungeon on Legendary and I still get lvl 6-7 items, it doesn't seem worth it, unless I'm missing something.) Giving Legendary a spin since the difficulty says "Average". I'll report back on what lvl rewards I get (if anyone else is interested)

edit: Already in the Legendary version of dungeon 2 I've found ("special events 2nd dungeon spoilers)
a mining journal with 200 gold tucked between the pages, and a rat that I could give a strength potion in return for a treasure map of some location in the Rushlands. Prettay, prettay good. So far.

Tip time!

- Enchanting is awesome. Get the books, use more materials than required, get a hefty bonus to your gear. Crafting is terrible, enchanting is great.
- Overworld shrines gives combat bonuses: always go pick one up before going into a dungeon.
- Food buffs last multiple fights. The passive regen ones help a LOT.
- Mana potions are a QOL feature for dungeons. Probably the only potion type you want to craft a bunch of whenever you can.
- Use your coins to buy uber fishing gear. Trade the fish you catch for coins when you find the fishersharkman. Profit.
- There are some rare but powerful events you encounter in dungeons that should not be wasted. Learn to recognize which ones do what. You see a big magic cube? you just scored a gear upgrade, mister.
- Don't be afraid to try heroic version of dungeons. Better loot, and the difficulty jump is minor. Plus there's no additional penalty.
- Walls that "shake" (and spill dust) in dungeons can be broken.

Second dungeon complete (on heroic as well).

Crafting for me has been completely useless so far as I don't even have items for stuff that is 3-4 levels below my level. And money is so tight that you can't even buy good gear, lol. Just have to make do with what you find in the dungeons. The earned money goes towards buying books to unlock things like alchemy, crafting, enchantments, etc. Enchantment system is good though, as I did have all of those ingredients.

Currently level 10. Should I go do the main story (
Junktown
) or do the sewers side quest next? Anyone know the levels of each area?

P.S. - The "defeat 100 enemies in dungeon" battle perk is really annoying.

Crafting gets more useful towards the endgame, especially if you're leveling up off characters. Churning out purple gear to fill spots you haven't otherwise is good, churning out purple gear for lower level characters to have the moment they level up with mats you don't have much use for anymore is better.

Tip time!

Addendum:

- Always feel free to explore the other exploration areas in each region before the dungeon. The dungeon will be the highest level place.
- With the magic cube, you can leave it there, clear the dungeon, go back to it, and then give it your item, which lets you search for the cube unmolested and without sacrificing an item in combat until you find it again.
- A reserve of cleansing flasks is always a good idea if you don't have Calibretto in your party. It's a good idea even if you do though, because there are fights down the line when you need to cleanse ASAP and don't want to wait for Calibretto or spend a level of Burst.
- Especially in the back half of the game, offensive flasks combined with Bursts/bonuses are the best way to deal with difficult fights/those bulky 'miniboss' encounters. For instance, buffing Red Monika's stealthed Ambush or Garrison before his Burst 2/Berserk combo with crit/damage on turn 1 can nearly wipe out those epic monsters almost immediately.
- Never forget your Dungeon skills. Seriously. Entering a battle with Gully's shield/stun applied can completely flip the odds. Knolan's frost lets him immediately drop empowered Ice Lances. Calibretto's ignite opens up a ton of opportunities with other players skills, etc.
- Keeping up with the arena is a good way to combine getting XP, earning rewards, and doing side content.

I think there are two sewers quests. The first one you can probably do at 10, the second one culminates in the
level 12 Slime hunt
, which can be pretty hard. Worth a shot though! Dying doesn't cost much.

I've found crafting useless except for rings and amulets. Altough I did find some stronger versions a couple rooms after I crafted said rings and amulets -.-

Are you on PC? Thanks to CE and speed hack you can grind through the "defeat 100 enemies" really fast.

Thanks for the tips above guys, copying em to my little NP++ file for this game. Awesome! :]
Tip time!

I always do Heroic but I never did the legendary version of the first dungeon. Trying legendary on the second dungeon at the moment and the difficulty bump doesn't seem so bad.. but that's probably because I'm overleveled (10 when I started it, close to 11)

edit: So the Legendary version had a lot of extra white loot/crafting mats, quite a few purple pieces (same level 6-7 items though while my party is almost 12 - just better rarity). Yet to fight the boss, just cleared the whole dungeon before the boss and gotta take a break now.

Saw a loading screen tool tip saying legendary dungeons are supposed to drop higher Ilvl gear. Then again the loading in this game is so fast that I might have misinterpreted said tool tip. Either these same level/low level drops are a bug, or I'm just not far enough in the game for Legendary dungeons to work that way. What's you guys' opinion on doing Legendary runs? Worth it?

I've done the rats part of the sewers quest. Now I
have to go down there again for the slimes. So I'm guessing this time it'll be that level 12 enemy.

Might go do the story a little more I guess.

Yeah, I'm already using the speed hack mapped to a shortcut button on the controller. I'd rather edit the value of enemies defeated in the dungeon directly via cheat engine than waste time fighting 30-40 more encounters -.-

Anyone know how well this game is selling? Wish we had more activity in the thread. Such a refreshing take on the JRPG formula, mixed with some of the better stuff from western RPGs!
