Destiny 2 |OT3| The Token King

Man, I think I might be burnt out come PC release. We’ll see.
People seem to expect that the PvP meta will be different on the PC (which makes sense), but yeah other than that I'm not sure why (graphical upgrades aside) I'd expect the PC to breathe new life into the game if I'm already burnt out on the content.

i'm starting to seriously consider just sticking with the PS4 version now instead of moving to PC. i'll still get it on PC but once the first expansion drops i'll decide what platform i'm sticking with. i'm just worried about finding others to play with on PC.

Xur sucks in D2 so far. Why isnt he selling mods, shaders etc? Now its only weapon and armor for some reason.

It's really bad. He sells very little, there's fewer interesting exotics, and there's nothing else to spend legendary shards on.

-Extremely well thought out post-

Excellent read, Hawkian!

I happen to agree with a lot that you said here, but I think the most important thing about this post is that you described your argument and your points without being rude or demeaning of anyone. I hope that even people that don't agree with you can read that post and learn from perspective of players like us and many others.

Well, then, that's that. A pretty big initial omission I would say.

you can also argue that the playerbase is so god damn hungry for content they are needlessly dissecting any and all information re: Destiny 2. Deej had to publicly apologize for commenting on a feelgood story because all of Destiny reddit threw up the pitchforks overnight.

Specifically stating just armor originally when weapons are in there too was going to lead to speculation no matter what. That's not jumping to conclusions or anything but rather just going by the info published from the developer themselves.

Why is everything basically token based?

Someone has to be Token King!

That's the thing, you could've put out the flames and gossip yesterday with just "and weapons"

Now we know, others will see and get informed

Now to see the perks, I swear if there's a slide to recover ammo I'll Riot!

right, but instead of giving Bungie the benefit of the doubt when they churned out x3 different iron banners with x3 different armor/weapon sets everyone decided to look at the glass half empty.

basically toxic community is toxic.

Damn, saw this gif on reddit regarding the effect of recovery:

Really shows how dramatic the difference is. Seems like about 5 seconds difference between 1 and 10, or a full half second per point. Waiting 5 extra seconds every time you take damage sounds torturous. Really need to make sure my titan and hunter have as much recovery as possible...

It's better than the Destiny 1 system of rep based. If you forgot to pick up your reward it would get erased if you earned another.

Tokens also allow you to use the tokens on a different character rather than be tied to your character.

It's a great QOL improvement.

But doesn't that mean that mobility and resilience got also insane difference between min and max ?

Pessimism does not equal toxicity. Additionally with the sequel plenty of content from the first game has been removed in this one so to assume that might be the case here isn't a completely ridiculous stance to take. We got clarification from the outcry, I'd say that's a good thing.

The Prestige Raid sets alleviate some this burden

They come installed with a Mod of the ability the lack most in (iirc, or on the piece)

Like Warlock gets more Mobility/Resilience
Titan more Mobility/Recovery
Hunter more Resilience/Recovery

Also that's why people are chasing sets, there's a reason certain sets cater to an ability.
I think Hunter who lacks the hardest in Recovery has a recovery set on Io or Titan, not sure

Then you can add mods if you get to add more Recovery

So there's thing there to balance, but a mess to work out properly with certain things blocking you from doing so

are these iron banner specific weapons or random crucible weapons that drop when you hand in tokens (i.e better devils)?

i find it weird they wouldn't showcase iron banner weapons or mention them before this

edit - read the tweet, seems to specify iron banner rewards

After re-skin stuff when they showed faction stuff im okay with the weapons being a surprise.

I think Mobility is strafing, the back and forth speed
Nothing to do acceleration speed/movement

Resilience at higher point is more survivability (duh!), it could mean an extra MIDA hit from death and surviving I think if you get it above 5

People are breaking it down and figuring out the true numbers

At the moment Recovery PvE And PvP is king, with Resilience second, and Mobility last

anybody looking to do trials?

I haven't done it yet on Destiny 2, not the best pvp player but would like to go through to get a taste of it.

Thanks

this video is great. Explains it all in detail with video evidence.

Pretty much you should try to max recovery and have a Resilience of 4 or better and the rest in Mobility. I think the max you can do is 15 points in all.

I run my warlock with 0 mobility /5 resilience /10 Recovery.

In PVP you want at least 4 Resilience. PVE you have a lot more leeway.

It will be interesting to see if these weapons have their own style/look just as the RoI Iron Banner weapons did or are they just re-skins with the IB logo attached.

i'd actually be more interested if they were viable in the current meta.

Show me a pulse rifle/handcannon worth having.

Based on some screens I saw they look like reskins :/

Whatever hoping for some interesting stat and perk combos

Im leaning too heavily on my tried and true weapons and I want to play around more

wait they come with an extra stat point or they just have a different setup of stat points?
