For some reason I read the title and was expecting to see Ruby from MvC2, I got Ruby Heart confused with Ruby Rose.

She seems kinda basic in comparison to other Arc characters but I guess thats to be expected. She's the protagonist of a series that's never been in a fighter before. I love (despite how dumb it is) the intro line of the match. "CANT ESCAPE FROM CROSSING FATE!" Something about it that's really hype. Game looks super fun. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

From what I've been seeing, a whole lot of people who are really hyped for RWBY aren't from traditional fighting game circles. It kinda makes sense that she would be a more newbie friendly character.

UNI characters also seem to be using assault to air dash - hope this doesn't mean they have start up and travel less than the other characters.

At least seems like Linne kept her dash (now walk?) cancels.

It's, ok, but they keep making it high pitched each season. the JP voice they got for her sounds much better.

The rest of the RWBY girls sound so much better.

Honestly, it's not the voice acting. It's just ASW's voice directing and use of battle voices has always been questionable, in both English and Japanese.

It's just more noticeable here because apparently Ruby's VA has always been somewhat spotty. A spotty VA and a voice director that might not be fluent in English or at least know how to direct an English voice actor is a bad combination.

I'm confused by the character select screen...I know they say it's temporary, but why go through the trouble of developing a rotating selection screen for placeholder purposes? To me, placeholder means "Here's a bunch of boxes tossed onto a screen, we'll figure out what the heck to do with them later."

I'm thinking they plan to use something like that in the final, just with more characters. Hopefully that's wrong (or maybe someone approved it being used as a placeholder to prove a point with the feedback). Much like Nintendo Switch game icons, a proper character select screen in a fighting game is very important.

I don't know if it's slower overall I feel it's mostly just due to the nature of the combat being grounded because of the long block strings and mix ups with assist

Seeing the character select screen has got me wondering about who else will be in the game, and how many characters there will be. Unfortunately it also got me thinking about the likelihood of a Steam port.

What are the odds that this actually comes to PC? I would have been fully expecting to see it arrive eventually, but the game having Persona characters has got me worried.

I can't find it right now but I'm sure they said in an interview there would be a story mode.

They confirmed that this game would have a story mode that involved all of the series involved. In fact, the (poor and probably lying) reason they gave for Guilty Gear not being part of this game is that the series' story is still ongoing, and they didn't want to mess with it in that regards.

There was a 4Gamer interview where they said that P4U and Uniel's story also haven't wrapped up, but the decision for them to be implemented lied on their respective creators, and they accepted the cross-over despite that.

Man I keep forgetting how rough all the VA is in RWBY. Most of the stuff from the first 2 season's cast is real noticable. I thought they had significantly improved, but really you just get used to it during the season, and coming back in cold like this is rough.

This is really late on my part, but Labrys was already established before P4A (was accounted for in one of P3's drama CDs).

That said, I question just how many of those ETC slots will be reserved for original characters (six, assuming the ? is for random select, sounds like quite a few when there's usually only one or two).
