Just put on White America for the first time in years in honor of his shitting on Trump. Eminem was actually the musician who got me into music, so I've always had a soft spot for his stuff even if he hasn't really been good since 2003 or so.

Looking back I just realized that one of Eminem's strengths is pointing out hypocrisy and the absurdity of America's values. He used to mock Bill Clinton relentlessly back in the day:

I actually think with all the praise there are some underrated parts.

In the beginning it sounds like hes going to go at a woman, but stops himself. Maybe giving hint hes done with that usual rhetoric?

Then at the end he makes sure to state that we love our military. Something the right always uses against any form of protest. Same old "disrespecting the military" bs when it has nothing to do with them.

Its like that usual eminem thing he does when he kind attacks every angle so you have nothing to say.

My friend who does poetry/battle raps says this was kind of lyrically weak for eminem but I think hes somewhat missing the point. The fact eminem used this big of a platform (bet awards) and on video to go at his trump supporting fans is a HUGE statement. It speaks volumes more than just saying fuck trump on Twitter or at one of his concerts. This is going to go viral.

I don't think this is necessarily hinting at any direction for the album, but it was definitely intentional here, cutting off what would typically be a woman bashing punchline to focus in on Trump.

Em has given us 15 minutes of bars damn near between this cypher and campaign speech, while Kendrick has given us 5 bars. Kendrick is great at what he does, and I'm thankful for it. I just feel like eminem, a rapper that is under appreciated by the community, is doing more for the cause than 99.99% of the rap community.

If anything, I hope this gives other mc's the courage to speak their minds as well. We need all the help we can get.
