There is some Macklemore song that a "friend" of mine was raving about and loving. No idea what it's called but it was basically him making fun of the hick lifestyle from what I could tell and this guy that loved it is literally the type of guy that it is making fun of.
These people aren't very aware.

Yeah it's absolutely no surprise to hear that a bunch of white boy snowflakes are upset. I've known more than a few white dudes who conspicuously listen to only (or at least mostly) white rappers and have less than progressive politics.
It's especially great because you hear shit like, "oh rap sucks right now but *insert white rapper here* is the best, they're the only one with real messages, etc" and it's like, cmon dude, really? I don't like a lot of current rap trends but at least be honest with yourself and others.

In 2013 he was still using the word fag and referring to gays derogatorily on Rap God. I thought he had gotten past this stuff when he said he supported gay marriage in 2009, but still using homophobic language in fucking 2013 is unacceptable and strongly undercuts whatever image he wants to put forth as matured and evolved. Not to mention that it's embarrassing and juvenile for a 40 year old man.
edit: Not to mention the misogyny. I can't say I'm an Eminem fan anymore so I'm not up to date with whether he has mellowed in this over time, but I do think his reputation for it is definitely warranted.
