Fortnite: Battle Royale |OT| 100 Players on Epic Battlegrounds

Crossing Eden

Hello, my name is Yves Guillemot, Vivendi S.A.'s Employee of the Month!
They should include melee weapons for people who happen to be on the unlucky side of dropping in shitty neighborhoods. I don’t see a problem with the high risk/high reward. A frying pan should be nothing to a shotgun toting player in the beginning of the match.

Plus i think it’d fit right in with how cartoony this game already is.

Give melee players a reason to play smart, instead of having us hug the edge of the circle for 8 minutes hoping we’ll survive long enough to find a decent enough weapon.
The weapons are inaccurate enough at even the closest of ranges that I don't think it'd be very satisfying.

Well in his defense, he had the scoped AR which is kinda hard to use in close combat. So I don't feel too bad about it. Honestly he should have switched to hix axe right away since he had the shield advantage.
More like impossible because of how awful the hip fire is when you take into account the bloom.

I'm enjoying the arcade-y elements of this game to PUBG's more realistic slant. Building's a bit clumsy for me at present but otherwise I like how snappy the pacing of the game is on the whole, mostly from the start. Where in PUBG after a death I usually just quit out because of how annoying and slow the start of a match is, in Fortnite I find it easier to just hop right back in because it's a lot quicker in that regard -- and the game silences itself when alt+tabbed and flashes on the taskbar when the match starts so I don't have to listen to the minute of lobby spam. It's also nice having a damage location indicator and the game having an aesthetic that actually allows for spotting people in ways that doesn't require to eagle eye pixels moving in grass.

I can't wait until they add character customization in because if I could just opt to use the constructor character that'd be great, I adore her design.

If you get hit by by a melee weapon 3 times while armed, you are bad and deserve to die. There's literally zero reason to penalize unarmed people in such an extreme way. It's just bad game design to automatically doom people because they lost the RNG weapon lottery at the beginning, for example.

That would be a correct assumption if the hype fire wasn't incredibly unfun and inaccurate due to being ported over from PVE.

Holy shit, this was intense. I landed dead center in the circle and decided to just farm up materials for a nice end-game fort. Then someone came along and launched rockets at the base until it was gone. So I was out of materials, low on health, and the other guy had a fort.

With no cover, I made (probably) my only shot count :)

Sometimes though, the wins come a little easier. 2 left. I wonder where the other guy... oh. He's right there walking really slowly to my fort. Ok.

These are hands down the best loot spots on the map. GUARANTEED 2-6 chests and very little resistance compared to areas like Greasy Grove or Flush Factory.

Yeah both spots are great. The top has some loot spread out over uninteresting points of interest in the open, while the swamp has them at obviously intentional spots like the treehouse.

I also love the west side, 4A. You spawn at 2 houses, plus the house on the top of the hill which is a good drop if you dont see anyone else there. That entire strip above 4A has 2 more chests, and then another house, and halfway through you can cut towards another house leading to the middle of the map

Its not an interesting route, but its largely quiet and unassuming. Personally, I think they should really add another point of interest on the left side of the map.

Wound up doing duos, trios, and then full squad games with my friends for the first time. Squads are ridiculously fun but the building becomes a little irritating at the end. It's still my least favorite part of the game, but it's worth it for the rest.

Not sure I'd miss RNG shooting being gone though. The amount of times I'll die, not hitting an enemy once, despite having my crosshair directly on their upper chest the entire fight is maddening.

I like dropping to those houses just to the SW of Moisty Mire before heading there. You can usually get a gun there, and by the time you walk over to Moisty Mire you can see if it's been looted yet without running the risk of dropping in with a load of other teams straight away.

First game on the new patch is a win!

I like the new bus speed. I saw some of the new buildings, too. Damn near everything was still looted though. Oddly enough, there was still an unopened chest in the final circle just out in the open.

Congrats. I'm excited to check out the new changes. I'm more into this game after every session. Is that the extent of the stats or are there more detailed/additional ones?

That's the extent of it for now. I'm not sure what other stats here could be. I would like some stats on weapons but I'm not really expecting it to get that detailed. They're probably just looking at what PUBG tracks and thinking it's good enough.

Average time survived per round! I'd love to see that stat, actually. It'd be interseting to compare that to PUBG.

In PUBG, I have 200 hours and 30 wins. Fortnite is.... a lot easier :p

I'd love more detailed stats like hit percentage with each weapon, number of kills per weapon, average survival time, average position.

They could even add cool stuff like heat maps showing where you get kills and die. I'd love to see some more thoughtful stuff like that. It all depends on what they're grabbing on the back end though.

Anyone else issues downloading the new patch (1.22) on PS4?
Its taking forever, current remain time is over two hours and its only 1.5GB. Tried pausing and restarting the download, restarting the console but still slow. Nothing else is using the connection - ran a PS4 speed test from the UI and states I have the normal 70Meg download speed.
Check to see if any other games had updates to download and Rocket League did, the 500Meg patch took about 5 minutes to download, while I paused the Fortnite update.
Once it was finished, resumed Fortnite and still super slow :/

Fortnite tweeted they are aware of slow speed for Sony and are looking into it.

I like the new bus speed, it definitely seems to have made people land in more varied spots.

My first game post update led to a win but I have to say it felt a little unsatisfying. I basically did nothing but creep for most of the game and only made a single kill. Tactically an OK win but not the most exciting.

I really don't understand how they can consistently get to 97-99 people but they can't get to 100 to start the fucking 5 second timer....

I also wish the shield drop was more consistent. Some games I have 100 shield and 4 spare potions. Other games I get 0 following the same loot path.

Battle eye is nice and all but I think it comes with a performance hit which sucks. But even though I can play the game again, it runs much worse. It might as well still be broken for me... at least BR runs somewhat okay... for some reason better than PVE now where as the opposite was true before.

Wish your team mates names were the same colour as their icons. They are the same pale blue.

Thought I read that they would be doing this in the patch notes? But I havent played the new update yet. Or I misread it.

This?
"Player indicators on the minimap will now match the color the player was assigned instead of all players showing as a cyan color."

The map has changed so that it displays their color instead of light blue. The names that appear over the character are still all light blue though.

ah yeah, ok, get it now.

Well game just shit itself for me. Trying to get in a duo game, and after a 3 minute search, we get split. Try backing out, stuck at the loading screen. Restarted the app, and I waited in a 2 minutes que and get a login fail message. Yikes.

51. Cheats give a cheater power to do or see things that others players cannot. For instance, a cheat might enable the cheater to see through solid objects, teleport, impersonate another player by “spoofing” that player’s user name, or make moves other players cannot, such as a spin followed by an instant headshot to another player.
360 noscope cropping up in court documents lol.
