I feel such an idiot. I had an hard time winning the battles on Driftwood since I was level 8-9 and everyone else was 9-10...

Now I found the area of level 9 enemies... Derp

Yeas Act 2 I did it wrong lol. I ended up in black pits at like lvl 16/17 lol.

No wonder I had some issues at the start.

Is there a right order of doing things? I'm currently doing act 2 and pretty much went straight to driftwood. Finished the arena at lvl 8-9 i think. Should i go somewhere else on the map now? Don't want to come to some area way overleveled.

For Act 2 outdoors, just check the level of the characters and enemies. If they are 2+ higher, explore elsewhere.

I don't have that much of a trouble with it per se. It's simply not fun. The slow effect especially is on my nerve. Decided to skip it.

You can take a shortcut - it's hinted in a book or somewhere, don't remember.

Solution:

In the area you start, you can teleport down to the left and run along pipes. That will get you directly to the end-room without any puzzles. You just need to have some form of teleportation.

A few hours ago I couldn't win a fight, now I'm going around Fort Joy taking out all the guards like they are nothing. This is awesome.

I've been getting pretty frustrated with the pathfinding of my AI companions since the other day. I'm not sure if it's related to the patch or just the different terrain of Act II, but the major annoyance is that I'll be running along the overworld for a few minutes, get into a fight, and then notice that two of my party members aren't with me because they stopped a mile back where there was an area of poison in the middle of the road that they didn't want to walk through.

In contrast to that, I just finished a fight where my pyromancer cast that explosion spell which leaves a ring of fire around the caster. As soon as the fight ended, without me touching anything, she ran right through the fire in order to get next to the party leader and promptly died from burning. What the fuck is that.

This is my biggest gripe with he game. I often have to take control of party members that randomly decide to stay behind. They wont move or rejoin the party unless I control them manually.
It tends to happen with ladders or pools of poison.

I experience the same thing with ladders, quite a lot. But the elemental surfaces I think makes sense - they AI is set to not walk into those and take damage.

God damnit, I'm level 12, don't know where to tackle in Driftwood now.
Blackpits seems the reasonable place, but they are level 13 there.

finished the game on classic, took me 76 hours

I actually liked act 4, unlike others. but damn the final fight was hard, if I hadnt exploited the glowing idols of rebirth I would not have manged to do that in a hundred year. but you can refill them even during combat so that makes you basically invincible unless you run out of scrolls, I burned through about 20 of them.

all in all it was a very good game, I love how it looks, feels and plays, but I never really felt immersed into the world and act 3 was weak, I often had to force myself to continue the game. I also think it overstayed it's welcome.

still, looking forward to the inevitable successor, the mechanics are just too good.

BTW guys I am lost in Act 3. Where to go?

I found the Amadia's moon temple. I got the side door open up there. Need something for the altar in center.

I just use fire skills to clear poison pools that I know won’t be useful in combat situations. The Red Prince’s fire breath is perfect for it.

In Fort Joy's prison there's a chamber where you're forced to go through poison. There's no way around and it doesn't disappear after setting it on fire.
It's not any use to me now but did I miss a way to avoid it? Was really annoying to cross it with one character at a time.

As for avoiding hazards, they don't seem to have a problem with walking through fire, even when it kills them.

That happened to me, I just teleported people across, it wont let you telepoprt people to their death.
Once I got a bit across they showed up again.

This game can't even launch for me, I'm about to give up on this until Larian fixes it. I have to shut down my computer and then launch the game.

This fight against
Dallis after leaving Fort Joy is bullshit
. How many rounds do I even need to last? There's no way to completely protect
Malady
while also keeping all my characters alive. All the enemies have massive armor values that take multiple turns to chip away at, all their attacks will completely destroy one of my party's armor in a single turn, and those damn Geists can take out Lohse, Ifan, or my Shadowblade MC in a single turn from full armor. My characters are all level 8, they have pretty decent to good gear, and I've been giving them good skills. The whole fight is just fucked.

i mainly just focused on enemies either close or moving towards malady. i think it was like 4-5 rounds

It's 4 or 5. On Tactician, I more or less did everything possible to keep
Malady
up (Fortify, Armour of Frost, etc.) while attempting to CC as many enemies as I could whether it be Slow, Teleportation, etc. I ended up killing none of the enemies.

at last, for christ's sake
so duh, it seems like the only way to finish the game for me is to
refuse Lucian's offer and let Ifan confront him
because if I prevent him from doing so, he attacks
Lucian
and the fight starts with him being the only enemy, and taking him down requires a boring amount of time because he just stands there while regenerating 2k health and armour at every turn. If he dies game won't proceed because we're all still in combat but can't fight each other (they're neutral)

Please help

I'm stuck. Can't win the fight of "On the Ropes" quest with all the blobs (level 12)
If I enter the mines, I get destroyed by the Voidlings (Armored and Fluorescent)

Kind of stuck since I don't know where I can go level up in Driftwood.

If by the "blob fight" in act 2 you mean on top of the rafting, here's how I did it on classic, and it was quite easy for me;

I teleported the knight, I think he was, far, far away south. Not even on the rafting. He never got back up, and attracted 2 blobs that attacked him. And my hole party stayed on the top platform, the NPC as well. I lidt the ground on fire, ending up burning everywhere. That actually makes some of the oil blobs just attack each other, since they heal that way, so 2 or 3 never came after me. And the rest took forever to get onto the platform, I could kill them with ranged easily. Used my summon half way down the rafting, and on the ground, to keep the bigger ones occupied while killing them. The NPC stayed on the rafting with me, using ranged attacks. There was never anymore than 2 blobs at the top at a time. And you can Bless the cursed fire douse it.

It's possible to do some shenanigans with the blob fight to not get the blobs to trigger so you're only fighting the magisters there. In fact, you might even be able to avoid the fight entirely by using teleport creatively.

I passed the kid via two teleports like a football out the nearby gate(blocked so he cant run through it) and slammed it. Then he shoots the gate and the fight isn't triggered. He's saved and the fight never starts. It's trickier than you think but it's doable. I should note saving him is totally not worth the reward, so only do it if you really care. I had to refuse the reward!

I beat the game at 130 hrs! finally. I loved it. I'm so glad to be done though, I need a break and I have so many other important things to do and other games to play when I'm NOT doing those things.

This game is amazing!

I've been playing this too much the last few days. :D Thought about it at work on Friday.. haha! I'm still on the first island of the game, and just now I'm starting to feel like I get a hang of the systems for most of the mechanics.

I don't really understand Source though. It depletes and the only way to replenish is items (Purging Wand?), some of the Source Water puddles and maybe some other things coming up?

One enemy,
the witch in the cave on Dragon's Beach,
used Charm on my Beast, and he used his Source skill on me. It was mediocre and quite expensive. Oh well, I hope I find a use for them later, but now they seem very eh.

I still have some places to explore on the island before I follow
Gareth and his Seeker crew (love these guys)
into whatever the future holds.

I'm having tons of fun with this. I love that anyone is killable and available for pickpocketing. :D

I'm playing an undead dwarf by the name of Odi. I love being able to lockpick with his bony fingers. Right now I have Beast, Fane and .. whatshisname? The Lone Wolf. I happened to kill Sebille because she was.. not very nice :(

thinking about switching someone for Lohse though. She's alright.

This game also has me superhyped for Pillars 2 - Deadfire. Love the RPGs going around these days. Huge props to Larian and happy for the great sales!

Anyone have some advice on a 4 man party setup and builds?

Try to pick things that compliment each other. Rangers are very strong late game, summoners are great pinch hitters giving you a tank/offtank and the ability to focus on either magic or physical damage.

Anyone have some advice on a 4 man party setup and builds?

Just random tips that help for everyone: Warfare should be maxed for everyone except for magic users. Even magic users should get a point at least so they use shields, yes give your spell caster a shield, it's a huge help. Rangers are overpowered, definitely have at least one. At least couple points in Polymorph can be useful for anyone. One character at least should have Petpal and high Persuasion(main is preferred). One character with high thievery is a huge help. I'm sure others will give you more focused tips but these are good general tips.

I'm just about to face the final battle, currently level 20, is that enough?
On Classic difficulty.

That's what I just did it on....though at first I had a ton of trouble. It could be really easy or really hard depending on your choices.
I'll just say there's only one character you actually have to fight, and ton of people you potentially could. If you fight them all I think it's impossible. I just fought the one.

Wow, what bullshit.
All my party had their first turn in the last battle, then they just kept getting skipped until 3 out of 4 were dead.
Why is that happening?
The order seemed to be set in the first turn, then they all move down the order then it just skips past them back to the enemies until they're dead.

What have you done so far?

Let's see.
Entered Driftwood
Went left of Driftwood and learned my second Source slot after the battle there
Came back and did the Ghost Vision thing
Explored around, and went to Stonegarden. Did my stuff there.
Then went to save Hannag, which sent me to the Blackpits to save her apprentice

And here I am.

It's possible to do some shenanigans with the blob fight to not get the blobs to trigger so you're only fighting the magisters there. In fact, you might even be able to avoid the fight entirely by using teleport creatively.

Not fighting the blobs sounds good. But fighting the magisters it's a must otherwise I'll be loosing some huge amounts of XP :|
