Oh wow, the Lancer Evo can be taken up to 111% power and still be N300. No wonder I felt it was slower than my opponents! lol

Edit: Hmm danowat, are you sure about this? When I go to register for the N300 race it pops up that it will adjust my power ratio to 96% and weight ratio to 102%.
Hmmm.... Maybe I am wrong, maybe it's just for downgraded cars?

Yeah, I was thinking the sport races worked like arcade ones, they don't, they have a separate BoP on top of the class, my bad.

I would imagine BoP would be tuned by the devs at certain times.

Those are also automatically readjusted in races with BoP on.

I've downtuned my M4 Coupe to 81% to make it a N300 car, but when I go to register it gets further downtuned to 70%. It's probably just the handling of the car itself that makes it superior to default N300 cars.

I’m sure the HDR looks amazing. Ive tried favour quality and it looks a little nicer, cars and the lighting on them look sublime as you would expect.

Yes I switched to favour quality too and yes I agree it looks a little nicer, thanks to Gaffers here that taught me how to enable it.

All this VR talk is annoying. Feel like I'm missing out and even though I can afford a PSVR, especially since I can get it with 40% off due to a rewards program, I just can't justify it.

Unless I can be convinced that cinematic mode is worth it as well, so that I can get more use out of it but I seriously doubt that

Every racing game needs a mode that teaches you braking points for every track in a structured manner like this game does. I love it.

A nice way to get people accustomed to driving without the racing line turned on all the time too.

Every other racing game just takes the easy option out and implements a driving line. Everybody new relies on it, nobody learns anything.

I'm learning new tracks in this in record time. I'm so thankful they've taken the time to actually teach you the new tracks.

I prefer the cinematic mode in VR more than a cinema but if you have a decent quality tv then it isn't going to beat it but watching movies that have a great atmosphere like The Thing or The Shining in cinematic mode is hard to beat. Same goes for games, the vast majority are better on your TV but I recently switched to cinematic mode for Until Dawn rather than using the TV because it was more atmospheric.

VR games are where its really at though. Even though GT Sport's VR implementation isn't worth the purchase of a headset as it is bare bones, racing in VR from other competitors like Dirt Rally can't be beat in conventional terms. Though GT:S might be a good starting point as it isn't dropping you in the deep end.

But how will little Timmy get golds and 1st places on the first try then? /s

I had 9 cars from the Beta, will I only have 8 now? How do they choose which car I will lose?

The mailman just came and delivered my GT Sport.... CAP. Fuck, I thought they would bring the game and the pre order bonus together -.- The cap is ugly as fuck btw.

Otto just canceled my steelbook special edition preorder so I had to buy it somewhere else.

If you are from Germany, go to the local real and get the day 1 edition for 59,95€. They had a pricetag of 74,95€, but in their prospect it is 59,95€ and thats what they asked for at the checkstand. That is really cheap compared to other retailers.

Any impressions from a G25/G27 user?

(or anyone who's using an unsupported wheel!)

I have a G25 and use it using the Drivehub. It works great and you can use the G29 configuration setup to change button placement. I remapped the MFD options on the dpad, rear view/flash lights on the L2/R2 wheel buttons and ghost toggle on X.

Having the DS4 light matching the rev counter (green, orange, red) is the best part.

If you have a second DS4, it can be used at the same time, which is very useful when navigating menus, in livery editor and photo mode.

That's 100% golds on driving school. 48 total. It's actually not that that challenging. The most brutal stuff seems in campaign and circuit experience (though YMMV there).

Did you get a Veneno for all silvers in the Driving School? Just curious since I also got the Safety Car GTR for getting all Golds.

My copy is ready to be collected from Bargain Booze! Will grab some beer while I'm there.

Is it possible to play in 4K and save a replay, but then change resolution out on the main settings and replay that replay in 60FPS?

I'm about to buy PSVR because of a couple of GTSports Videos (not really, I'm tempted by PSVR since launch and I tried to resist until now). Can anyone tell me how GTS in VR performs with standard PS4?

Thank you very much

Is there no way to edit music playlists?

I'm having a blast with this game either way and I don't even care about motorsport, it's just fun to drive and compete :D

Wow why is PSN so fricking slow?

Just got the game and started the update download and it's taking forever! My friends list and what's new list won't even load. Arghhhhh

Why does my SR sometimes go down when someone bumps in to me? That could grow mightily frustrating, especially when you actually lose a place to that same person.

Rear and front of the cars are very sensitive zones regarding penalties, moreso than the sides. I think that is supposed to be a penalty for slow downs, so not only will you get one if you bump from behind, but also if you allegedly force someone to bump into you.

It just doesn't work as intended at the moment, they really have to readjust that.

There is rain, one of the gymkhana challenges has rain, drops on the windshield and wet road but no reflective standing water.

I imagine PD save a lot of CPU with fixed time of day and fixed lighting that is loaded at start vs recalculating the shadows every now and again, and the moving lighting, and handling a weather system like driveclub.

Also at night there is this weird optimization of headlights like yours light up the barrier and the car in front but then cast a shadow that isn't lit up by the car in front..
In games there is definitely, computationally, 99% still un calculated in real time, within 1080p or 4k resolution.

The game has no way to know who is at fault. It lowers SR for both drivers. It may sound unfair but it's the only way to always punish the driver at fault, urging people to avoid contacts.
I believe it explains the system the first time you open Sport Mode (it did in the Closed Beta at least). From what I understand, iRacing works in a similar way.

You don't have to worry about it too much, if it happens once or twice you will still end up with a positive SR. And if the other driver is a troll and keeps making his way up the grid by smashing cars, his SR will do down. And with a low SR, he won't advance in DR.

Give it a few days: once you get to higher SR ranks you won't have to deal with race ruiners.
I got to S rank in the beta fairly quickly and the experience has been great.

Somebody was asking earlier; trophy for being 1 second faster then gold time is already doable on the first 1 lap circuit time attack in the driving school (challenge 24). Current fastest person on the leaderboard beat it by more then 2 seconds.

Is it possible to remove the black shadow you get on the side of the screen when another car is close behind?

Haven't found a setting for it.

Damn, I thought you had to beat all challenges with a second. lol

Don't know, downloaded the patch in 15 min.

As for the game, could no pkay more than an hour but messed with liveries and did the challenges up unitl the 8th one. The game is pure bliss to play and I love that it actually teaches you how to drive and not be a wrecking ball on the road.
