From reddit:

So aside from Sony Playstation headsets, what other USB headsets worked?

Logitech G930 works and my much older Creative HS-1200 works too.

Basically any headset with USB-cable or USB-dongle seems to work.

Hot damn! My PS4 headsets been collecting dust. This will be great when the munchkin goes to bed (TV is right against the wall of her room) and I wanna game in the living room.

On a side note I hope the rev 2 of the Switch has Bluetooth audio capabilities. One of the main reasons I sometimes don't bring it on the train w/ me. Gotta pack another pair of headphones and disconnect my wireless, put them away, take out wired and plug em up. Really wish switch supported bluetooth audio like the vita.

God damn Nintendo implemented this feature before Microsoft, get your shit together Xbox ffs it’s been four years.

My Corsair VOID Wireless headphones do NOT work unfortunately. Plugged it in, dongle connected to the headphones, but the Switch didn’t recognize it. It doesn’t work very well on PS4 so I wasn’t expecting much with Switch. Still a bummer though.

I have a USB C adapter, but no USB headphones :( otherwise I'd test in handheld mode. If any of you guys have a Galaxy S8 or Note 8, it came with the adapter, go dig it out of the box!

I was gonna ask for a suggestion for wireless headphones but then I realized I didn't want to be limited to just the Switch for wireless output. I'd be better off just getting a bluetooth adapter to plug into the audio output of my TV instead.

Those adapters that come with phones might lack a DAC since the phones have one built in, so those might not work.

If I had to guess, Nintendo probably added this functionality due to the rise of USB-C headphones in light of the headphones jack going away. The dock having such functionality was probably icing on the cake.

Still a great feature to have either way, so I'll commend Nintendo for that. Hopefully this is the first step towards voice chat without the phone app & potentially functionality with Bluetooth headphones/earbuds.

Fawk!

One step closer to true Bluetooth headphone capabilities

Can anyone test putting a USB bluetooth adapter and testing Bluetooth headphones? I would have never expected USB headphones, but the dream of bluetooth headphone capabilities has been revived with this news.

Oh man. I wonder if my creative adapter will work? Updating now.

I use the adapter on my PS4 all the time so I can use my AirPods. Would be amazing to have AirPods usable for everything.

Does generate lag in the audio like the adapters?

If it doesnt what is a cheap-good wireless usb headphone? (even better if I can use it on my PC too).

EDIT: I currently use the Logtech G231 so I'm not relaly looking for top of the line lol).

A regular Bluetooth-USB adapter for PCs wouldn’t work, those need drivers and OS-support for the pairing-process, etc.

Edit: USB audio transceivers might work.

Well this is fantastic for me. I have the PS headset which I use on my PS4 and Mac and now I can use for docked wireless audio with my Switch. Absolutely amazing for me, fits me perfectly this solution. Did not expect that!

I just tested it.

My AirPods are working!

I’m using a creative Bluetooth adapter. I’m gonna text stuff like latency now.

No noticeable lag, this is the same adapter I use for my PS4.

Nice

Sony Gold Headset and Aukey usb adapter.

I might have a bluetooth adapter around here somewhere, which I can test with BeatsX headphones. I'll do a test if I can find one.

edit: can't find it

Did you pair them to the adapter on a computer first? you realize you just volunteered yourself to the bluetooth cause in making a step-by-step tutorial... j/k
