Burnout paradise remastered March release

I always found the world, events, soundtrack, and visuals to be incredibly boring. I tried getting into the game on so many occasions and just couldn't. Shame, as I really liked 3 and Revenge.

YASS! I've spent more time playing this game than any other: just a superb arcade racer. Is there a physical version?

Am I the only one disappointed by the way this looks? Maybe I've been spoiled by recent remasters but this looks like there was zero effort put into it.

Finally PC will get all the DLC...

"Later."

Not that I trust EA to not shove more microtransactions into this.

Looks a tiny bit cleaner than what it looks like running on PC at 4K right now. I honestly don’t know why they bothered besides cashing in on the console crowd.

Fans of this game will look at this remaster with happiness, and I’m sure that they’ll snap it up in this “everything was open world” era of video gaming.

I look on it as the game that ruined the franchise, thanks to its “me too” adoption of openworlditis. Races became downright confusing with missed turns and having to look elsewhere but the action to stay on the right path. Oh, hey. ANOTHER Marked Man event. Guess I’d better back up to that intersection I just blew through. When races didn’t piss me off, I was bored to tears driving around looking for shit to do.

Seems fitting for this to come out just after another franchise (Dynasty Warriors) was also ruined by the same disease.

Paradise is what killed the series for me and I adored the first 3 games and Takedown is one of the greatest arcade racers of all time. However, with that said -- I'll try again.

But yea open world racers can suck it

I'm often baffled why everyone goes on about how amazing NFS Underground 2 was, when the first one was so much better.

On Topic - This looks very mediocre. How can they advertise 4k when it all looks like uprezzed 720p.

Off Topic -
1. I wanted Burnout XYZ
2. Burnout Paradise is the worst one, just saying
3. I'll never buy it because I like Burnout XYZ, therefore Paradise sucks.

Ok, that should take care of any off topics going forward...

I loved Paradise, and also loved the previous Burnout games too, but this remaster is completely unnecessary. Just a shit money-grab from EA, I won't be buying it.

Is this a first for EA? I believe they stated multiple time that remastering old games wasn't their thing. I don't trust them so I won't support the game by buying it.

EA should start remastering NFS Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted and Carbon.
Then we finally will see some awesome NFS Games after years.

Burnout Paradise is a good start. Definitely not the best Burnout game. But I had a really fun time playing it.

Needs a skip button for all the cutscenes and slow-motion crashes. Criterion games need that in general. All I want to do is race, not stop and listen to some bullshit about cars and cities or DJ Atomika asking for my picture.

Yea, I'll agree with Venuspower : Far from my favorite, but it's a start; Is there really anything on these systems remotely like Burnout?

I'd buy a Switch port if they make one.

Yeah, I want to play this but no way am I buying it. I'll just wait and play it Origin Access.

Also, EA/Origin Access seems like the perfect place for EA remasters. People aren't going to rush out and buy a remastered Burnout, but a steady stream of these, like a Burnout, SSX or NBA Street Greatest Hits could keep someone subscribed to the service and help fill out the somewhat thin library.

I never got on with Paradise – I couldn't stand having to look at the mini map during races. How anyone thought that would be a good idea in a Burnout game is beyond me.

Wait, what? It's actually happening?

You actually don't look at the minimap. You don't follow the guides. You just head in the general direction.

The different car types means they will take different routes. Stunt cars will take more corners while the speed cars take the straightest routes.

I'm totally happy about this. One of the first games I achieved everything possible. Also Achievement Hunters first video on their channel, so the game has a lot of history for me.

I'd be more happy with a PC release for 3 or Revenge... Or a PS4 release.

Paradise is my least favourite in the series... and I got it for 2 plattforms!

This is great, im really looking forward to it.

I wonder if they will do some goofy monetization with it...

So 4k/60fps on PS4 Pro and X1X.

Do we know if PS4 amateur will run 60fps with 1080?

Indeed. Having to look at anything else but my car and other vehicles while racing at those speeds is an unnecessary and frustrating distraction. It’s like having trap doors set up all over the place— unless you “git gud” and memorize the layout of the whole area. That’s a homework assignment that I’d rather not take on.

I had a good time with Paradise. I don't know that the trailer is enough to convince me to buy it again. $40 isn't bad if it comes with all of the DLC.

The reason they ported this one should be obvious but here goes: it's the one that requires the least amount of effort to port and look decent on modern hardware. And then they can say they gave the fans a burnout remaster on modern hardware. They're aware burnout 3 and 4 are the fan favorites.

Indeed, this was the cheapest one to "remaster", the other games would need more work. This shouldn´t be more than $15.

cannot wait to play it again after so many years... it was my favorite racing-game before forza horizon 3 showed up!

God I wish they remastered Burnout Revenge or 3 or even 2 instead. Instead they remastered this boring open world garbage that killed the Burnout series with how awful it was. Getting rid of pick and play in favor of map reading simulators is the stupidest “advancement” in gaming history.

The worst part is that when this remaster fails to sell well, they will think it’s because no one one wants Burnout games anymore when the message is clearly that no one wants open world arcade racers like Paradise and everyone is instead dying to play Burnout 3 or Revenge.

If it’s cheap, I might even pick it up and throw it in the trash so that atleast EA might be more likely to remaster Burnout 3 or 4 and not think the Burnout series doesn’t sell.
