I haven't a clue what they could be working on but as a team, they produce only quality work. I didn't get on with Shadow of the Colossus, not because of any technical problems but the gameplay. I guess I found the loop of traveling and then fighting a boss a tad boring after a couple hours. Looking forward to more details from them in the future though.

Yep, that's where my money is. There's clearly a market for them, and with Sony giving the Shenmue III kickstarter a prime position at their conference, I wouldn't be surprised if they locked up another exclusive.

With that said, if they were making what I wanted them to make, we'd be getting Draken: Order of the Flame:

I don't think it would be Shenmue since SEGA seems to be good at in house remakes (see: Yakuza).

All Sony exclusives since 2015. Maybe it's Shenmue 1 and 2? Ports could be ready in time for the third game, it's a console exclusive.

Biggest problem in porting Shenmue probably isn't the technical part, but rather all the licensed stuff and companies that appear in the games. A total nightmare in terms of authorizations.

i wish they would remake the panzer dragoon trilogy the art design of that series is so incredible it would be amazing to see it what it would amount to with high fidelity art at 60 fps. unfortunately its too niche of a franchise so it would likely never happen.

Honestly even though it's a niche franchise, it's gameplay has some pretty significant mass appeal. It's an on-rails shooter after all with lots of fun mechanics. I'm sure it would be a hit if they put more effort into that IP...

Hardly greedy in my book, after what Konami did with the HD Collection and canceling Silent Hills I think a proper HD trilogy is the LEAST they could do to the fanbase as an apology (granted they hurt Kojima and his team far worse but I imagine the ship's sailed in making amends there). Seriously, out of all the series I'm a fan of, Silent Hill is the one that depresses me the most to be a part of. Homecoming was completely creatively bankrupt, Downpour had potential but was ultimately a letdown, the HD Collection is an insult to 2 and 3, and SH Revelations is my most hated movie ever. Seriously, it hurt in 2012 to see one of my top 10 video games ever, Silent Hill 3, be butchered twice with the HD version and the movie. But really the best hope is for Konami to just eventually grow tired of their old IPs (I mean, they kinda are but even past the point they won't bother making pachinko machines out of them) and a more trustworthy game company to buy those IPs from them.

I'd be happy with ports at the very least arent worse than the originals. I haven't actually played 4 or Homecoming either so they would be like new games.

I always wonder about that, the inclusion of that stuff is basically advertising, and I find it funny that they need to hammer out licensing to advertise for them. Or they can go the US Peace Walker way and make everything generic curry lol

That said I think most if not all the stuff in Shenmue is Suntory brand, and Suntory still works with Sega on the Yakuza games so it would likely be easy for them to work something out.
