Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Almost everything on Steam is on sale.

Speaking of which, how noticeable is the lag using steam link? I've always been afraid to take that plunge for that reason...

With a controller I don‘t notice any lag with my settings (Wired Internet, highest stream quality). Tested it with TV (21ms Input lag) and monitor next to each other. But it depends on the game. You may notice it with fast Paced shooters and M/KB. Image quality is good too. But not perfect.

The new mini-game for the event seems kind of braindead and I've already heard most people are just cheating with scripts that spawn no enemies and auto-clickers. Still, the rewards are nice
I went ahead and bought one for $10.5 it will be fun to mess around with.
I was going to buy one too but my shipping is like 20$ and I don't think that's worth it.

Steam sales are kinda depressing these days. "Oh wow, 20% off". I mean, it's better than nothing, but most of the game I sort of want to buy are too expensive to make me actually buy them.

They've been bad for like half of a decade now, just subscribe to r/gamedeals or something and you'll find much better deals throughout the year.

I still miss flash sales. I did like the Spring event where you were encouraged to play stuff, if they developed that a bit more it'd be good, as things stand it's rare there's anything I want at a price to tempt me

Nice. I see they've implemented a more streamlined approach to buying badge cards now as well. Anyway bought XCOM 2: War of the Chosen expansion which has been on my list for a while and also The Council which is a sort of Telltale style game but have very good reviews. I dare say I'll be picking up a few more games over the next few days as well.

Well, that’s nice. I saw “Steam Link $2.50” and I thought “awesome, that’s worth a go”. I’ve been meaning to move my PC from the lounge room back to a dedicated room and this’ll let me still play some games from the couch.

Went to purchase. Instead of a “buy now” it has a link to EB Games, who apparently have the Australian exclusive on this product.................at $89.95.

On top of that, only about 10 games from my wishlist are on sale.

Thank you very much Valve.

I can't recall a time when there has been less excitement for a Steam Summer sale. There were always leaks, excitement, build up. This year, nothing.

EB Games occasionally slash the price to something like $20-30, they've done the same with the Steam Controller previously. If they do it again I'll probably pick up both. But yeah it's weird the way they've set it up for us Aussies. They really don't like shipping to here unless it's in BULK.

Publishers set the prices/sales for games, not Valve, so it's not their fault if the games you want aren't on sale.

You can blame that on refunds. That was the trade off. Since Steam has allowed refunds there have been no more of these "so cheap you have to buy" prices.

Yeah, it's unfortunate but plenty of sellers outside of Steam still run great deals so there's that.

25USD for FFXV prob be my only buy this time, will have to go down to uni on other side of city to download it at 10MB/s, else impossible to download for myself at 80GB or whatever it is.

I agree. It just added to my woe.

Fantastic game and there's an "overhaul" coming later this year if you want to buy it and wait to play it until then.
I really enjoyed the first until I got stuck and had to move on. The only reason I haven't picked the second up already is that I read it was more difficult. The first was my maiden voyage with this type of game and I found the combat tough going.

You can set the difficulty to the easiest setting. It makes the game really easy. Heck, that is what I did until my second play through since I was figuring out the mechanics.

My Steam sale routine:

1. Check wishlist
2. Look for games I have added to my wishlist from 2 years ago. If that game still isn't on sale/good price, I delete it.
3. Look at games 50% or greater discount. Add to shopping cart.
4. Add games that are now under $10, regardless of discount.
5. Add ONE $30 game that recently came out (candidates like Frost Punk, Battletech, Nioh apply here).
6. Tally. Needs to come under $100. Trim the fat otherwise.
7. Don't actually play any of these games until next year's sale, and you forgot you already owned Thumper.

Okay, cool, thanks. I'm in. Is it worth holding off until the overhaul?

It still might be better to buy it now though then wait off for the overhaul, because remember when the first game had it's "enhanced edition" released and it didn't go on sale for as low as it had before for quite some time.

Double dipped on Deathsmiles so I could experience it on a bigger screen, but honestly, I enjoy the way my Cave shooters play better on my iPhone. But at $8, I couldn't pass it up. Wanted DoDonPachi Res too, but it's still too expensive.

As an aside, my iPhone is basically just a Cave-shooter mini arcade now. :D

Oh, I mean I've already bought it. I'm just wondering whether or not to play through it now, or hold off until the overhaul has been implemented.

I just bought Killer is Dead, Valkyria Chronicles, Final Fantasy XV, and Agarest Zero for 40 bucks.

You can't beat that.

Just a heads up Killer is dead has a weird bug with one of the boss battles IIRC on PC. You might want to employ a frame limiter because otherwise, you won't be able to beat him as the timing relates to the frames per second.
