TGO

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
A Deluxe Edition.... That won't be available outside the US

What have they done to Trish :messenger_downcast_sweat:

It seems the video is from the beginning of the game. Music bad. Lacks drive of the original reveal.

All these characters just look weird. Dante's nose is huge , Trish's outfit should have updated more in my opinion plus isn't she all demon so I didn't think she would age so much. Nero just seems like a prick and Kylo just look weird to me. Like seriously what in the world were they thinking with these designs. Hmm, maybe they were trying for a "cool" westernize look but combine the character's style with a Japanese type is what I'm think is happening.

what the fuck happened to Lady ?

IKR? The only reason she's the "same" character is because of some elements of her aesthetics... Her heterochromatic irises, and in the same vein, her clothing being progressively similar in style in her previous appearances... But her face? While I understand the series hasn't really been consistent in that regard -- Dante has seen many slight changes over the years -- they pretty much straight-up changed her ethnically... Which I understand is kind of a touchy subject nowadays.

(Forgive the massive images)

Her jawline is completely different now. Bleh.

What is with all the negativity in here, I think Dante looks a bit weird/old but overall the game looks amazing and has a way higher budget than I ever thought DMC5 would get.

Hell I never even thought I would get DMC5 for a while and here it is and looks absolutely incredible. Long live character action, easily my most anticipated game.

People don't like change man, seems like some people wouldn't be happy unless they just re-released DMC3 32 times (knowing capcom they will eventually).

The game looks great, faces look fine. I'm just happy Nero and Dante still have the correct voice actors.

Lady in DMC V looks like Kate miccuci

Trish looks like an over-the-hill, drug-addicted pornstar who’s only famous because she’ll do things that prettier girls don’t have to do.

Is it just me or does Dante's voice seem way to "young" for his character model?
I've always preferred Drew Coombes as Dante. Reuben Langdon the guy who voices him now was initially cast for Dante being younger in DMC3 and he's stuck around since I guess. People like what they're used to.

Absolutely love how Lady looks. Trish is whatever, Dante looks better than when was first shown.

What happened to Trish face?!
I'm pretty sure the women they scanned for the model is stunning in reality, but they fucked up the lighting and texture map imo.
They can still fix it, it's not hard.

Well in motion it doesn't look that bad.
I think it's the same phenomenon that happened with Dante: the still of him yucking it up on the bike looked monstruous, then we get this trailer and he looks fine. If we get better looks in motion it will probably be ok, it's just the RE Engine scanning that makes a lot of interstitial derp faces.
Even the official render looks 20 years younger, so there's that.

It could just be me, but I see Stormy Daniels:

I noticed this too. The new design looks as if it belongs in FFXV.

They look fantastic in motion, but when you take a screen grab in the middle of animation, you can get derp faces. Go to any youtuber and randomly pause when they are talking and you will more than likely also see a derp face.

Gameplay looks horribly rigid, which smells like big failure since it's one of DMC's most important aspect.
I'm sorry... how?
If anything we've seen a lot of returning (teleport, dodges, jumps, air hike) and new (the "super dodge") moves that favour mobility, what makes you say that?

The camera seems a little floaty compared to previous games, but it looks like it plays pretty much the same. I just wanna see some turbo mode gameplay.

To be fair, that’s kind of how she always looked. To me at least. Always a bit trashy.

I dunno what the fuck they did to Lady though. I mean cool we’re getting DMC5 but what

This just me but series thats about stylistic combat with stylistic costume design, hyper realistic faces just doesn't go well with it.

Or you know people don't like the faces because they strait up think they look bad or weird/off. After seeing more of RE2 at TGS it makes me further disappointed in these faces.

I know my post won't be too popular, but this looks to me almost like a cross-gen game, I'm not sure it looks better than DmC, especially the animations during gameplay, it's like they were brought from the previous games. Is it being made from a relatively smaller budget?

I love how despite all the Bullshit in his life Dante still managed to put together a little family of his own. I wonder if This is still cannon.

I love the new Ifrit/Gilgamesh. It looks like he's doing capoeira most of the times while still retaining moves from previous games.
And the bike is just pure bliss

I don't know if it's cannon but they're taking Morrison from there so I guess it at least has some influence. I'd be cool to see grown-up patty though.

Have you looked at that gameplay? The particles, the detail, the animations (especially al the little flourishes after a move which actually do look similar to the old games but considering how awesomely animated they already were it's not really a big deal), the hair and cloth physics, the general look of materials and everything... i get maybe liking more the colourful style of DmC but technically this is on another plane of existence, come on :messenger_sunglasses:

I just watched some new Dante gameplay, and I must admit it indeed looks better than I thought after watching the new trailer but it's still somewhat lacking. Maybe it's the bland and sterile world, and still the combat animations look like they were taken from DMC4.

I don't like the fixed camera in all of these gameplay... damn.... I so want to like this game but the more I see it the more I would like to go back to DmC....

I think it's just a matter of artstyle, especially environmental. On a technical level just by virtue of looking this good at 60fps AND not running on the Unreal "plastiline, delayed texture load and stuttery" Engine 3 is miles beyond.
thief183 thief183 the camera isn't fixed, actually.
