Ah I failed to consider the sandwich-toaster. I made the mistake of only thinking of the conventional 2/4-slot toaster, which while providing a satisfying singe, doesn't leave sufficient room for a tumescent member, and with the tendency to accumulate crumbs one risks a breadcrumb up the japs-eye.

The sandwich toaster of course carries its own issues, as while it is more spacious and you can adjust for width, ultimately the edges are quite sharp and will likely be uncomfortable on the todger, possibly restricting blood flow if too much pressure is applied in closing the toaster.

Can't find it now but there was a documentary about these sex dolls and the guys who buy them. And no they aren't all Japanese, it focused on American's. One guy was probably in his early 20's living at home, and another had like 5 or 10 dolls or something and a GF.

Personally think these type of people need some form of help. A blow up doll isn't the worst thing we all have to get off, but its taken to far where they actually feel like they have relationships with these dolls and treat them like real people.

Take advancements in robotics, advancements in AI, advancements in deep fakes and we are in for some trouble. Check out the chinese AI news anchor and we will get to the point where people will be able to create AI deep fakes of whatever sexy lady(or man) they want. Eventually they will be able to probably combine these deep fakes with robot dolls and then we will all be robosexual.

Probably not much at all. Japanese men have been looking for escapes from the grind for ages. Stuff like cabaret clubs and all that have been their escape mechanism for decades. The advance of technology has just made this an option. The work culture, the family dynamics, etc have all had a negative effect on people over there and it's only more recently that people are starting to realize, "This has been fucking us up for ages."

I'd say it is their issues with sex in general. Add in this burnout work-culture where salarymen basically come home to sleep a few hours and then go back to work and it is no wonder relationships don't thrive. 90% of their porn seems to be this extreme weird shit (probably because those salarymen working 100 hour weeks can't get it up to anything normal) and I'd guess that when teens get exposed to it, they either reject sex or develop weird fetishes that normal relationships can't cater to.

Yep, that was what I was going to reply. It doesnt seem to be a "feminism" problem at all in this case, japanese men just can't get in relationships anymore (or flat out don't want to). Just look at how big the pornographic industry is over there, and also alot of hentai I guess and then we have stories like these and anime pillows and whatnot.

I remember talking with a friend of mine about this, about how Japan has an overwhelming number of virgins comparing to any other country / region and it keeps getting bigger, and this conversation happened some years ago not recently.

Reading the article, the man's wife just stopped wanting to have sex with him, which had emotional connections for him (some people are like that). So he lost part of that emotional connection and made it with the doll he started having sex with. Maybe it's an American thing but there is couple's consoling. I mean, the wife admits in the article that yeah, she just didn't want to have sex anymore, even before the doll. Maybe he should've been trying to find out why that is. I mean, if he's happy, and she'll deal with it (as he's not asking her for sex anymore and that's what she wanted) then I suppose leave it be, but I would at least try to figure out why his wife started getting distant prior to the doll.

See the bold bit. It does affect other people. Once you have a family you can't just say "fuck you all, I do what I want, whatever come may not my problem", as father he has responsibilities.

I agree with you that a single person can do whatever they want, but I draw the line where other people are affected.

Lots of choices you make affect other people. For example, if you had not posted what you did then I would not be posting this. Now this post may prevent me from doing something else right now and it may just save my life (or kill me). Maybe leaving my house a few minutes later because I posted this makes me avoid a car accident or maybe it puts me in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Say I pull into a drive thru and then somebody drives right past because there is just one car too many and then they eat elsewhere. The choices we make do affect others, we do not live in a vacuum. Sometimes it's small stuff and sometimes it's big stuff.

His daughter doesn't like the doll but isn't hurt by it. His wife lost interest in intemacy and while envious of the doll, she is aware why it's there and it still doesn't make her want to be intimate with her husband. It's not really hurting his family.

While I do not share any of those beliefs/fetishes/needs/opinions of the person you brought up, if his partner truly did consent, then I wouldn't want to judge this either. However, it is usually the case that such extreme lifestyles/beliefs/morals tend to justify (or even encourage) hurting/bothering other people. That I do condemn and that should be brought to justice. Hurting people in any form, just because they don't share a similar point of view or are different from you, is not okay.

EDIT: I think the more general question would be if there's any line that we draw with regards to tolerating/accepting other people's beliefs/lifestyles. How extreme can they get? My personal answer that I'd love to give would be: As long as no one's hurt or bothered by it, as extreme as people wanna go. But I'd expect that there might be a point where I would also go "man, this is fucked up.". So the real answer that I need to give is: Personally, I don't know.
