One of these obviously has a greater effect on the victim, especially when a false accusation doesn't often lead to a false conviction.

The decision making that went in to not going for monetary damages would be really interesting. EviLore could definitely show monetary damages, but my guess is that they don't expect she would be able to pay.
If there was proof that Era was planned in advance, and this was used as a way to launch, that would make things very interesting.

I mentioned this on Discord last week. I am not sure if this is the place to best mention it on this forum since it's about our forum here.

I've noticed over the past few months the poltiics forum tends to get a lot of new accounts posting that never post outside of the politics forum. A lot of these posters are obviously just there to try and cause trouble and have really low quality posts. I am a little curious as to why someone would sign up for a gaming forum and only ever post political stuff. I'd rather discuss poltics with other gamers and regular members here rather then obnoxious trolls. Has anyone considered putting a post limit and account age limit on Politics? Say something like must be a member for at least one month and have 200 posts for example?

you tend to see that when one of the era mods has a ban hammer attack they slither back here to start shit.

Most people in the gaf pol boards are good at smelling rats and trouble makers so I don’t think a restriction on posting in pol will really do much good...they usually come in...post the usual reeee shit and get laughed off the stage or they suicide when there is actual discussion instead of waving a banhammer

The mods are pretty aware of this...you won’t see it but they are lurking

When you say the '#Metoo witch hunt', are you specifically referring to what happened to you, or has that situation led you to to consider the whole movement a problem?
Even though some innocent men have been fucked with, it's taken down some awful people, so I've still got to be supportive (with open eyes).

I was referring to the movement as a whole being at peak witch hunt when I got hit. Every day around that time, someone was being targeted and destroyed by social justice mobs and it was all over the mainstream press.

I had serious reservations about #metoo that I expressed publicly prior to becoming a target of it. Due process exists for a reason, and finger pointing witch hunts are grossly immoral by nature. History has shown us that time after time, and #metoo continues to show us that.

With the way the world works right now, deplatforming someone can effectively end their livelihood and career, yet it requires no evidence, corroboration, time, or even plausibility. Context doesn't matter. The reputation of the respective parties doesn't matter. Point a finger, socially murder them the same day. It's reprehensible and needs to stop.

But do you see a chance of it stopping? Reductive social media, with Twitter the forerunner of it, promote a climate that is supportive of it and modern social media optimising information flow in a way that you need to actively be careful not to end up in an echo chamber strengthen this effect. We can see it on the social justice advocacy site with metoo and ever-increasing language policing and we see it on the right with "alternative facts", conspiracy theories and anecdotal charged reporting. Many other subcommunities with a somewhat smaller reach (anti-vaxx, identitarians, sovereign citizen movements, global warming deniers) exist as well that are strengthened by such mechanisms. In the mid-terms it is clear we will not get rid of such charged social media bubbles, so as someone who has been a professional in social media for more than a decade, do you see any realistic chances to tackle this issue in an effective way?
