Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

The only thing I care is responsiveness. Fuck the way it looks, make it snappy and make shortcuts available. All we need.
And I don't care about crappy suggestions. Just give me the bare minimum.
No it needs to functionally pleasing, which the aesthetic is tied to. Things need to be organized in such a way that it's easy to find and intuitive. This looks better than the current version.
How would you know?
Oh for sure, that's part of the functionality. Was the old version sluggish? I didn't notice.Could be. But if it's sluggish as usual it's still useless.
Damage control to what? The UI overhaul has been leaked for quite some time. It's just Valve working on Valve Time™Can you say...... damage.... control?
Yeah, I also corrected that in my profile.
I was banned "somewhere else" for saying Thanks Epic... Please don't ban me here, it's a joke All of that aside, finally a much needed revamp of the fugly Steam client, a welcome one indeed.
Even though it might seem like a reactionary measure, I'm sure this has been in development for quite some time, I'd say it's barely a coincidence with Epic's recent endeavours. Why would you be ban for saying something that coherent? They haven't done or changed SHIT for decades even though making money like leeches on the back of publishers and users alike, and suddenly they change the UI? Of course concurrence and criticism has to do with it.
Seems like it has the same problem Xbox UI has, it's too busy and cluttered. I feel minimalist is best. That's the problem when you try to jam in so many features for something that wasn't designed for it.

2019 and Beyond
Doing this sort of retrospective is useful to us as a team, because it helps us better understand what we've done and where we should go from here. While we feel like we've accomplished a lot in 2018, there's still a ton more work to do, features to build, and hard problems to solve. Here's a sneak peek at a few of the more notable things we plan to ship this year:
- Store Discoverability: We’re working on a new recommendation engine powered by machine-learning, that can match players to games based on their individual tastes. Algorithms are only a part of our discoverability solution, however, so we're building more broadcasting and curating features and are constantly assessing the overall design of the store.
- Steam China: We've partnered with Perfect World to bring Steam onshore into China. We'll reveal more details about this in the coming months.
- Steam Library Update: Some long awaited changes to the Steam Client will ship, including a reworked Steam Library, built on top of the technology we shipped in Steam Chat.
- New Events System: We're upgrading the events system in the Steam Community, enabling you to highlight interesting activities in your games like tournaments, streams, or weekly challenges.
- Steam TV: We're working on expanding Steam TV beyond just broadcasting specific tournaments and special events, in order to support all games.
- Steam Chat: We're going to ship a new Steam Chat mobile app, so you can share your favorite GIFs with your friends while on the go.
- Steam Trust: The technology behind Trusted Matchmaking on CS:GO is getting an upgrade and will become a full Steam feature that will be available to all games. This means you'll have more information that you can use to help determine how likely a player is a cheater or not.
- Steam PC Cafe Program: We are going to officially ship a new PC Cafe Program so that players can have a good experience using Steam in hundreds of thousands of PC Cafes Worldwide.
That'd be nice. As it is, I really don't don't what PC Gamer or Polygon have to say about each individual game in my library. Given the option to turn things on or off would help a lot.A common complaint that could be easily remedied if Valve gave users the option to turn certain features on/off in the settings.

Don't worry, it's bookmarked. Gotta love that favourite group though.
Also, what's the issue with Achievements? At Least Steam has them. They're basically dictated by the developer and in large part, especially with multi-platform games outside of their control. What's the beef?
that's patently untrue and implies that you haven't the least idea about what you're talking about. You don't even know what about Steam has or hasn't changed in recent years. Why would you be ban for saying something that coherent? this UI revamp has been known to be in the works since before EGS existed.and suddenly they change the UI? Of course concurrence and criticism has to do with it.

Not sure about Gamezone but personally I feel like the biggest issue people have with Steam achievements is that there isn't any server-side achievement validation (outside of a dozen or so games) that's used to great effect on other platforms such as Xbox Live and Playstation Network.
As such, they're easily spoofed by users and are therefore not a good indication of a user's actual achievements. On Steam, my Final Fantasy XIII achievements that were earned with 100 hours of gameplay have the same weight to them as someone who opened up a cheat tool and clicked "unlock all".
Any chance they will actually bother to update their iOS app now? Because this shits old as hell, barely functional and the messaging is lightyears behind anything else...
