Considering Diablo has mobs of enemies and tons aura/effects, I don't see how a FP view would work.
Third person zoomed out a bit could work though.
Like one of those Dynasty Warrior kinds of games.

I suppose this could be true, but it sounds more like an angry 15 year-old's idea of what a company in chaos looks like than a pissed off professional's take. I mean, maybe it's hyperbole, but everything is so one-sided and far-reaching that it's hard to believe.
Hypothetically, I would absolutely would check out a first person Diablo spinoff if it wasn't just a shooter. I could see them doing it too if the Overwatch engine could be made to work with larger, randomized levels and mobs of enemies. They want that Destiny co-op money like everyone else, and it's got all that delicious loot box potential built right in. It would be PR suicide to call a game like that Diablo 4 though. On the other hand, all they really have to do to dodge the rage is erase the 4, add a subtitle, and show some concept art from a "proper" D4 that is totally in development right now.
Story wise, if they did try the ol' "The bad guy was secretly good because the good guys are obviously bad" switch, it would be mind-bogglingly stupid. That said, it didn't hurt Malificent or Netflix's laughable Castlevania series (Dracula just wanted love y'all), so why not follow the trend?

Do you work at Blizzard or have contacts? Just wondering because you seem pretty certain In your response. I agree it seems like a bit much, but Blizzard does seem like a company without direction these days.

I do NOT work for Blizzard. But I've worked with people who have been involved with Blizzard. So I guess you could say contacts. But honestly speaking, it's really really not that hard to tell that this is fake whether you know people or not.
Diablo 4 is going to be a Isometric RPG and is going back into dark days as far as the art and atmosphere goes. Best way to describe it is Diablo 2 mixed with Bloodborne/Dark Souls. Very dark horror themed, which what made Diablo franchise so special in the first place. You will see it this year at Blizzcon.

I think I saw an article saying that multiple diablo games are in the works. That and Activision lost their looter shooter so they might want another one. It's possible but I don't think it will be Diablo 4, maybe a side-game.

Overwatch 2 is going to be mostly Player vs Environment (PVE) with Left 4 Dead gameplay thrown in there somewhere. Yes, I know it sounds weird, but that's what I been hearing. It makes no sense to me either.

Well, I think it's not really meant to be a sequel to Overwatch but a companion piece while the main game continues (especially easy to do since now PS5 will be backwards compatible along with Xbox). I know some people want a legit Overwatch 2 but some of us like myself who stuck with the original game kinda don't want to be stripped of all our cosmetics, rankings, etc. Like eventually they'll have to do a proper 2 but I don't think it needs to happen for a good while. Overwatch isn't the sort of game anyone is really going to be going, "ugh, these graphics could look more detailed!"

i just hope Diablo doesn't suck. Overwatch is probably my second favourite Blizzard game but the whole SJW side of it just leaves a disgusting taste in my mouth. If they are gonna bow to those people then forget it I ain't playing it.

I think Overwatch 2 will be a full sequel with co op and the current format. They will probably reduce the roster to 12 or 16 and slowly reintroduce new and old characters. Relaunching the multiplayer gives them an opportunity to sell skins again. As well they can reset the baseline to the new systems which if they launch early gives them several years window to generate money.
If they just continue supporting the current Overwatch they just face declining revenue stream and if they just go Co op only it will suck; as they have shown in their events, which are Left for Dead with a lobotomy.

I'll be very interested to see what Widow looks like in O2 (assuming she makes the roster), considering her relatively high level of sex appeal in the current game.

I just meant because Hellgate was developed by (I think) ex blizzard employees and it was almost a clone of diablo but in a first-person setting and was touted as a Diablo FPS. It was years before looter-shooters became a thing as well

Not completely buying this rumor, but one thing holding it up: It doesn't take long to see that there is indeed a brain drain issue from the industry. There have been a LOT of companies either nicking pay of older employees or just straight up layoffs. I've spoken to several people who have seen this happen at several companies.
Why? New blood is cheaper. Who gives a damn about experience when a person is trying to get their way in the industry and will do it for cheap.

Yeah, not totally buying these batches of rumors. Can definitely see how some of this is true given how scummy Activision is. But stuff like turning Diablo into a shooter with loot? Them selling a seasonal event mode for OW as a $60 game. Not even Activision/Blizzard is that stupid.

Don't know about the price but Jason Schrier also claimed that a l4d-style standalone OW game being in development a month ago. That might be where this "leaker" took the information from.
To be fair, entertainment targeted at young people tends to be a young people's field. Look at what happened to companies like id when the employees got older. They got BORING.
