I think you're right. Nobody in history ever really liked pure democracy, it always led to cultural suicide after a long and unhappy period of mob rule. You obviously don't speak French very often, it would be simpler for us to just assimilate than change the language to accommodate the gender neutral ideology, everything has a gender in French, the computer keyboard is male and the computer mouse is female.

The table is female, same for the chairs, but not the stool for some reason.

This is part of what makes the language beautiful, I don't want a generic and dull gender neutral language.

If you look at young people today, and this generally isn't a criticism, they haven't really grown up. Throughout their twenties and thirties, they're still behaving like teenagers. Stephen Fry (who can be a bit of a bore) described the prevaliling culture well - video games, comics, social media - as being like babyfood. It's sweet, mushed up and easily digested. It presents no challenge. You don't need teeth to consume it.

As soon as you realise they're not actually adults, that they have no responsiblities, it all makes sense.
