Ion Fury Game Content Will Not Be Censored

Joint statement from Voidpoint and 3D Realms:

We’ve caused a recent controversy suggesting Ion Fury game content was to be censored.

We will absolutely NOT be censoring Ion Fury or any of our other games, now or in the future, including but not limited to by removing gags such as gaming’s most controversial facial wash.

We do not support censorship of creative works of any kind and regret our initial decision to alter a sprite in the game instead of trusting our instincts. 3D Realms and Voidpoint stand together on this matter.

Last but not least, please respect our need to keep our community forums clean from hateful messages, spam, or off-topic threads. We recognize our mistake and have received your message loud and clear!

Looks like nothing will be censored afterall. Good on them.

After they started pandering to REEEEE they noticed that not a single one of them started buying their game so now they are trying to back pedal. Better late than never.
I just wish they would leave politics the fuck out of games, period. I don't go to fictional lands and faraway places to be lectured about social issues. Quite the opposite: I go to those places to escape them. Why this has become so difficult for developers and publishers I'll never understand. Just make your game -- the game YOU want to make and keep away from all the pissant controversies and dividing up your audience. Why alienate people with money to spend? You're selling a product. People's livelihoods are depending on you, can't you keep your traps shut about political shit and consider that your employees are harmless victims when you start tying politics to your product? This is basic Sales 101 shit.

Not at all. Honestly It's a phenomenal game with a future that's still bright. Can't wait for multiplayer.

I hope you are right. Voidpoint obviously knows the build engine in and out and while ion fury still is a little rough around the edges, a sequel would be more then welcome. I just want them to go all in insane on the lame edgelord jokes from the 90s. Just never listen to resetera again voidpoint and 3drealms, forget that they exist and do whatever crazy shooter you want to make.

This is awesome! Good on the devs for not caving to fake outrage over their opinions that was set up by a Channer. I don’t have a PC to play the game rn, but in the future I’ll definitely play it.

The guys are making staff take "sensibility training", so they could've just kept the ball rolling and take the L towards PC community. This way they just look silly to everyone.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Good -- that's all I wanted.

I'm broken record at this point, but it's still unfortunate that the devs ended up in this situation where they kinda can't win. I'm sure ResetEra's going to throw a minor fit, at the very least.

The game is fucking GREAT, people. You should buy it.

Awesome, I'm glad. The game is fucking amazing and in the spirit of 90s FPS games that had attitude. Fuck censoring this or any other video game. The game is fun to play and as someone who grew up on shit like DOOM, Blake Stone, Rise of the Triad, Hexen/Heretic, Quake, and countless other FPS games that are now considered classics, it hits all the right buttons and is very nostalgic for me. Glad they aren't backing down and altering the vision they had for their project just because a tiny quadrant of the internet felt offended. Jesus fucking CHRIST, people get offended over ANYTHING these days. They have the right to but goddamn...some of them need to tone down the PC crusade a bit and go get laid, just chill the fuck out...

Unfortunately, that is no longer possible. Everything will become political.

People are now determined to find something. SJWs are going to seek out things to be outraged and as GAF is proving, anti-SJWs are going to be searching for things that could be considered a woke agenda, etc.

This is the gaming world we now live in.
