Nah i think it's much better if you ignore someone because some people just want attention regardless of if it's likes or dislikes.Let's get some thumbs down action. So many times I'm like "fuck this post I wish I could thumbs down this prick"

My samurai code doesn't allow me to use the ignore function. It feels week and cowardly. I prefer to express my discontent in the most impotent of ways, through a thumbs down reaction pic.
Not even close for me. Personally it gives me piece of mind because my patience for stupidity and attention-whoring is at an all-time low.My samurai code doesn't allow me to use the ignore function. Mmmmmmmm.
But who cares about your thumbs down button? That's what you do to feel good, but ultimately it doesn't get anything done. And since you don't address them anyway, it's just passive aggressive.
Where as if you ignore someone, they're vanquished. You actually get something done.

CANCEL CULTURE STRIKES NEOGAF!
Kinda hard when the said ignored member is always spamming the reaction button like crazy. You could always just, you know, ignore such things.
No plans at this time.
Nah. Sometimes you come across someone so retarded that you don't want to waste time reading their bullshit anymore.ignore is a bad function to begin with

Dislike doesn't stop you from postingDear God, please no.
Having dislikes would silence the best part of this site, which is people posting different opinions and avoiding echo-chambers.
Why don't you just ignore the reactions?By reactions i mean see them liking etc posts of other members. Because i really hope so. Otherwise the ignore feature is pretty much pointless.
True, but people like their e-points. Having the "like" option is already a lazy way to conduct discussion. Adding negative votes to the mix would probably just lead to more harm than good.Dislike doesn't stop you from posting

I don't have anybody on ignore, so I'm inherently looking at this from a different perspective than the OP. My question is what's stopping a person from just scrolling past the stuff they don't like? Do we really need that much of a safe space?
Why? And no you're not.
Yet.

Not to mention it kind of already is present, just in the inverse form.Exactly! If everyone with an unpopular opinion had their posts slammed with overwhelming disapproval, that would suck. Reactions should be a GOOD thing to get, not a spiteful thing to give.
I think it time to change your avatar bro!Yes please. Some loser keeps liking posts on Kojima threads that attack Hideo Kojima as some kind of weird passive aggressiveness towards me. Granted, we are not on good terms any longer so I'd upvote this feature to happen.

Unpopular opinion > reaction post with egregious gif/jpeg > reaction to said post: like or fire reaction given.
So it works out to be the same, nothing we’re missing we don’t already have present.
If it's a reaction, it's YOUR reaction, which is something that I really like about the "triggered" emoticon. If you use it, you're essentially admitting that a post made you angry, which could even be seen as a win for the person you're replying to. It's not a dislike reaction, and I like that.
Because of this, I think it's better to use humorously rather than seriously.
I've seen it happen. a negative positive reaction function was added to a forum and it changed the tone of discussion overnight. Members started safeposting or crowd pleasing posting to avoid any negative reactions. The negative reaction was used to bully certain members. People would actually go back through thier old posts and negative them and in some cases use alt accounts to double the damage.
As my mum used to say "If you've got nothing nice to say, best say nothing at all.
Positive reactions only on GAF please.
Lol why? I love DQV and its characters.I think it time to change your avatar bro!
