I do feel like playstation is already ahead of microsoft with this announcement.
Playstation 5 is now on peoples mind and wil be the first to be really talked about as the next gen console.
Micorsoft is now already playing catch up especially since they were already badly behind.

And most of all.. Playstation is in a really good spot when it comes to naming their next gen console.
Microsoft wil most likely come up with some shitty name again like xbox two while the playstation 5 is already the most talked about.

This would be a mistake imo. PS4 was so successful in large part due to clinging to the edge of mass market pricing. $499 is definitely over that edge, and $599 is way over that edge.

That said, with what they seem to promising in terms of hardware, $399 seems impossible. I'm expecting $499 for better or for worse.

They already announced BC with PS4 during Sony's Investors Relations Day. Most of the PS5 core features have previously been released or semi-discussed. Slow leak of information until Q1 2020, its not really hard to figure out. The PS4 will remain the focus until sometime next year.

I'm not a fan of the idea of adding even more stuff to the new Dualshock. Talk to the devs first and encourage them to be more creative. The speaker and the touchpad function were barely used this gen, especially when we're talking about third party games. Just more things to drain the battery.

Like what they say about haptic feedback. Any innovation in the controller space is a good thing (though I wonder if it's any more capable than the XB1's rumble triggers, or no. I sure sounds like it.)

Adaptive pressure level on the triggers seems more interesting and innovative than both of those rumble features IMO.

$649+ Canadian —-> very slow uptake here. I see 24-36 months where 99% of stuff is cross gen. I kinda want to get one at launch, but this home owning thing has made me into one cheap bastard, lol. Psnow/stadia/gamepass....looking better, haha. Lag aint so bad, it gives me time to appreciate whats going on on screen.
