Rumour: Cyberpunk 2077 could be coming to Xbox Game Pass.

Earlier today, Xbox South Africa's Twitter profile posted a Game Pass ad/video which showed a bunch of released and upcoming AAA titles. One of these was Cyberpunk 2077 which could suggest that CD Projekt Red's mammoth is coming to Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

The since-deleted video ended with a big Xbox Game Pass logo after more than twenty game logos were showcased. It is currently unknown if the video was deleted because it prematurely revealed such big news or for some other reason. Here is the list of all games that appeared in the video:

  • Halo Infinite
  • Gears 5
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
  • Minecraft Dungeons
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Sea Of Thieves
  • Wasteland 3
  • The Outer Worlds
  • Lego Star Wars - The Skywalker Saga
  • Madden 20
  • State of Decay 2 - Heartland
  • Doom Eternal
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • Forza Horizon 4 - Lego Speed Champions
  • Battletoads
  • Crossfire
  • Borderlands 3
  • Tales Of Arise
  • Bleeding Edge
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint
  • Elden Ring
  • Dying Light 2
  • Dragon Ball Z - Kakarot
  • Ori And The Will Of The Wisps
  • Tom Clancy's The Division 2
Of course, just like any other rumour, leak or unconfirmed info, take this with a big grain of salt. Like we already said, the video was swiftly deleted, which could possibly mean that it was a mistake or that it simply included some false information.

We ain't outta here in ten minutes, we won't need no rocket to fly through space
At launch? That'd be massive. They'd have to pay CDPR so much fucking money, you gotta wonder if it's even worth doing. Gamepass is already a great deal, no need to have maybe the most anticipated video game of all time (Half-Life 3 is dead don't @ me) on it day 1.

C2077, Fallen Order, Doom Eternal, Halo Infinite. .. looks like the only 2020 titles I'll be buying are REmake3 and Bloodlines 2.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
I don't think it is a good idea for the game industry. I just can't see a company as well run as CDPR go for that kind of decision, unless MS is throwing $100+ million at them. It's certainly good for Gamepass owners. No question there.

Some of you may recall that Greenman Gaming was selling Witcher 3 for like $30 as a pre-order and CDPR stepped in and stopped them from selling Withcer 3 because CDPR felt that selling the game at that price was devaluing their product. Putting it on Gamepass is very much in line with that.

In 2021 I could see that or maybe fall 2020 with scarlet but not at launch. They wont devalue the IP especially on PC. They are to shrewd for that. Now if there is a separate multiple player game that I could see since it be micro transaction heavy and getting into people hands is huge.

If Choose-Your-Gender Simulator /s comes to Game Pass I will be stoked.

(Please don't ban me! I am Pro-Game Pass and Pro-Polish Devs!)

Also, doesn't GP pay out according to time played? So if a knockout hit like this comes to GP, it can be a good thing in terms of profit for the devs and sweet for the consoomer because the game will be mega-popular and time consuming?

This is just a cock up, IMO. Likely a sizzle reel that got the wrong logos.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Lego Star Wars - The Skywalker Saga, Doom Eternal, Borderlands 3, Elden Ring and Dying Light 2 all on launch day? Mate... The service is amazing sure, but THIS amazing? Nothing is that good. Plus can you REALLY see EA giving up free shit?

Gamepass isn’t free.

I really dont like this fuckery with us the customers.
They make us preorder the games at a full price unlike gamestop with a 5 dollar deposit, to only announce a few months later the game is comming out on gamepass day one or even a few months after launch.
Doom too and dying light 2....elden ring?
This is really anti consumer and now at christmas time when most get a gift card they will use to preorder games for next year, at least me, its a big fuck you.

There's NO WAY it launches on Gamepass. With the amount of hype it has amassed in addition to the likelihood it will deliver, would end up hurting the title in the end. They will add it to gamepass a year later.

The fact that they deleted the video tells me there was an error. Sounds like MS has been getting ahead of themselves a little bit lately (Control announcement).

Honestly, with all the hype behind it, I don't see it launching on Game Pass. If it does, hell, color me BIG time shocked.

That being said, why do so many people treat Game Pass like it's some illegal service that isn't paying developers? If THEIR product is on Game Pass, that's for them to decide, not you.

Also, checking it out on Game Pass doesn't mean you care about the product any less. 🤷‍♂️

When Outer Worlds announced it was coming to Game Pass there was some really bizarre takes being thrown around.

"Oh Game Pass? Pfft, I'm buying the game cause I want to support the developers."

I mean, that's more than fine, but no reason to throw shade at folks checking out new releases on Game Pass... 🤷‍♂️

If people want to pay a subscription service for everything in their lives, let them. They only enrich the machine called Greed. They will be the ones responsible for allowing corporations and ultimately the government, to enforce a paid subscription service for the very air they breathe on Earth and beyond. Come back to this post in 100 years and see how many things are subscription based.

Stop. Subscribing. To. Shit

That’s ridiculously huge if at launch and could really solidify Gamepass as a premiere subscription service, but I also wouldn’t be surprise if by then Gamepass will be regularly priced or the price gets an uptick. It could be a partnership between Microsoft and CDRed, they seem like they have developed a solid partnership by now.

But I’m also taking this with a grain of salt, because it sounds too good to be true from a Gamepass customers perspective.

this will seriously devalue the game. i have gamepass and it will save me money but i still don't like it.

I’m pretty certain CDRed is still getting paid regardless. this would affect the number of software sold, it could hurt the sales of Sony ‘s version a bit too if it drives some of their user base to Xbox brand by getting them subscribed, or PC if this is also coming to PC Gamepass.

is it really devaluing the game if the devs are still getting paid?

Exactly. No, no it's not. The devs make the decision to put it on Game Pass, and they're paid for it.

If a team worked EXCRUCIATINGLY hard to release a title, and want to release it on Game Pass as well. Well, that's for them to decide. If they feel it wouldn't be fair to them and their team, well then I can't imagine they'd move forward with the decision.

Only situation I would be concerned about are devs that are strong armed by their publishers, but there shouldn't be TOO many of them. Even then, there would have to be some form discussion and agreement made.

We live in a world where devs can basically recoup the cost of development (or at least a large proportion of it) by agreeing to go on gamepass and by taking money from Epic to keep their game off Steam.

Can't say I blame them for taking the money.

Sentiments like this is what's wrong with this "gimme gimme gimme" generation of gamers, of course it's their choice genius to release it wherever and whenever they choose but they are immune to the criticism by doing questionable things.

To many individuals these days caping for these companies just because. CD project is a damn fine developer and their games deserves every once of money its took to make them. I just hope they think things through going down the games for service road.

Look these developers must have a figure in mind they need to meet in sales to make a profit. If MS is willing to cover some of that figure so they are that much closer to meeting that figure (guaranteed sales in other words) why wouldn't a dev join Game Pass. It would be foolish not to. A dev could reach half of there projected sales figure with one stroke of the pen. Those that understand will understand.

Those drugs must be REALLY good.

Only fools preorder anything
Nice to see people here get the point.
Everyone is hung up on the preorder part but yes if you look at the stats a lot of people preorder so whats with them who get fucked by this?
Do they get their money back?
Like it was the case on stadia where they made 2 games free after launch and people had to be refunded.

Guys look at the bigger picture here , trying to shed some light on a big issue and all you guys do is haha and lol on make us pre order comment.

Only a gamer would say something this ridiculous.

“God damn it... those fuckers at Microsoft... planning on doing something that will save me money... this is bad.”
I don't think it's so ridiculous. I agree with him.
