Can you just stop posting shit like this ? Like Sony is an incompetent hardware company . Whenever they put out a console it had been the strongest console when released . So cut that shit out please . Thanks 🙏

that was a joke... and what I said happened, so I don't know what you want from me? that literally happened you know...
they had to make a deal with Nvidia after they realised that the Cell Chip could only produce PS2 quality graphics in HD, and many believe that this deal wasn't in Sony's favour since Nvidia knew they had no other choice but to take their deal as Sony was already late.

You can run native 8K, but who would like to see a character moving into a plain dry dead surface at a low fps.

this is an RTX Titan running games at 8k ultra and even getting pretty good framerates

of course this is a massive GPU,
but I think it is realistic to assume less demanding games reaching 8k30 no problem, especially when using VRS.

Scarlett die size is 340 mm2 according to rogame .

smaller than Scorpio which was 360 mm2

He used the housing of the soc to measure the chip.

Might as welled used the console size.

401mm2 by Usman.

Well, for the first time in years, Sony's new (leaked) mobile phone looks pretty damn good.

dims

I have Xperia 1 and it is best phone I have had, real premium feel. Screen is just gorgeus thing and 21:9 is 2000% better than fatter screens, first it felt bit long but after that it is just nice to use and "wider" screens feel clumsy

Sony havent got real credit for their innovations in phones, and they have made good phones but they sadly wont gain much of momentum because of samsung&apple are so damn popular that people cant even think about getting anything else.

I dont remember the list, but I saw things that Sony have implemented in their phones before others and there were quite many things like waterproofing and other stuff.

you comparing a titan RTX vs XsX ?
+ i said native = no vrs

there are videos of a Radeon VII running Battlefield V at 8k30. my point is that 8k is not some unreachable resolution many make it out to be.
you can't expect a AAA graphics showcase to run at 8k60 of course. but a smaller game that is less demanding can easily offer an 8k30 mode for those who want it.

let's take Hitman 2 for example, that runs at around 8k30 on a Radeon VII, so maybe the developers can release a patch for it to give players that option on next gen machines.
optimise it and maybe turn down one or two expensive effects... absolutely no issue.

so 8k is not an unrealistic resolution to reach. that was my point.

The die size math is sound, even if inaccurate. The speculations you can believe it if it makes you happy.

The 9tf doesn't take into account clock speed.
It’s ok 9 TF Xbox is still plenty powerful 😂

I am just joking if you didn’t know . Xbox will be 12 Navi TF imo

This is what i said : it will run games native 8k plaint, wich is what a smaller game /less demanding will do obviously.
you might see current gen ports at 8k, next gen games at native 8k, i don't think so.

I still kind of wish they were targeting 1440p with the next gen consoles, and left 4k for the mid gen Pro consoles. Can you imagine the jump in graphics 12tf machines would bring if they were targeting 1440p?.
I think they should just leave 8k for PS6/Xbox 5

My gut feeling is that is what we'll be getting (1440p, or near enough via checkboard) for most games. There well might be a mid gen refresh too, this time for 8k, which is finally capable of doing 4 k properly.

Definately won't be seeing any true native 4k games outside racing etc. certain of it. just because they always overpromise

I'm pretty sure Halo will be native 4k.

but those current gen games already look petty fantastic, 8k Hitman 2 is not a bad looking game.
also VRS is something that really doesn't take away a lot of the image quality, so I wouldn't mind if it gets used heavily next gen to reach high resolutions and framerates.

so I wouldn't disqualify games using it. like if a game runs at 8k but with VRS I would still say that's an 8K game. it is less intrusive than even checkerboarding, and even that can make for some really convincingly native looking images when implemented well.

and checkerboarding would be another way to get a convincingly 8K looking image out of a 12TF or even 10TF GPU, the higher the resolution the less noticeable checkerboarding artifacts are.

I don't care, we are just talking about the power of next gen and what it wont do.

Xsx die size is 340 mm2 according to rogame .

estimate comes in lower if you assume the whole module is 50x50mm2 like oneX - tried this but it doesn't match smt size

based on smt sizes is almost certainly much higher

You can see the error _rogame made in this shot from wccf :

lZefVgg.jpg

Scarlet (left) board has 3 rows of smt not 2 like in the OneX

I agree with wccf - my estimates make chip very high 300s (~390mm2), maybe touching 400mm2, based on smt size (big error margin though)

It may be because according to this website Xbox SX has 9 Tflops. If true, MS will have much to clarify ...

Why would they have much to clarify? MS has not given us an official number yet.

Article was update to 12TF. Seems like MS saw the backlash against 9TF. And bumped the clocks a few mins ago.

Yea I feel assuming the casing are similar size threw his estimate off

Because they are letting people think that their console is 12 Tflops and if they were finally 9 Tflops it would be a blow to them. If it is confirmed that Xbox is 9 Tflops will be a negative impact for them, they should cut it already.

Lines up with "2 times the X1X GPU performance" more (taking RDNA efficiency into account), than 12 RDNA does.

I am still in the double digits for it.
