Look up the dates when they supported the ps2 and ps3 until then get back to me. FIFA 19 still released on the PS3.
If you want to stick with your old hardware you can, just don't expect to play any new games on it. Very few developers want to make new games for old hardware, why should they?
If you want to rock a 2010 gaming PC in 2020 you can, don't expect to play any new games on it, not least not to modern standards.

Despite owning an Xbox One X a few months ago, I traded it in so I can be day one for Xbox Series X because cross-gen games or not, why the hell would I want to play late 2020 games on Jaguar CPU garbage when I can play games on Zen 2, more RAM, far better GPU, RGB HDR and Ray Tracing with far better frame rates?

We would be seeing some ugly blocky polygonal garbage in 2020. UGH. That's definitely not why I pay hundreds for a next gen console.

This makes no sense. You buy a Next Gen Console for a Next Gen Experience. Play Games designed to take full advantage of PS5 and thus impossible to run on PS4 crappy Jaguar CPUs. Its Called Next Gen Gaming.

The ones that are not even there now on os4 pro like using full destruction as a technique to get rid of enemy and change the map with destruction while keeping 30 FPS. More interactive worlds . They can’t even do it now with this gen engine let alone with next gen engines with more advance lighting and global illuminations

Sony are giving the PS4 pretty consistent support through to the release of the PS5, though. This isn't the same scenario as the 360's last 12 months before the XBone released...at all.

I feel like the bigger issue is getting lost. If it's true that the new xbox is a 12TF monster of a console, then don't we want to see what that can do? It being able to run current-gen games with higher settings is already a given. And that's a nice feature!
But what we want when we spend $500+ on launch day for a new generation of console hardware is to get a glimpse at what is possible with it. Waiting at least a full year after the purchase to see what it's actually capable of is insane and there's a reason that this is a break from the norm.

Who the heck was saying that? Especially given that this has been the MO of every console manufacturer for decades.
The only thing I recall was people getting upset that MS said they had an option for people with poor internet or data caps and that "option" was the last-gen console. Honestly never heard a PEEP from anyone complaining Ryse wasn't launching on the 360. Especially given Sony was launching Killzone, inFamous, and Knack only on the PS4.
Unless you mean how barren their 360 release calendar was before then.

Nothing about worse, just that it's hardly likely to be relevant anyways. Not just in the quality of the games, but also them being some next gen showcase. It took awhile for this gen to really start shining. Diminishing returns is a real thing.

All these people that think that Microsoft is not able to show the capabilities of the XSX because the game is also scaled down for OneS are just fanboys that have some weird affiliation with a company, and hope that Sony sells a lot of PS5's.

Call of Duty 2 was not constrained by previous gen hardware. It was made specifically for next gen. Goodluck if you think next CoD will be exclusive to next gen.
Guess which games looked best for ps3 and ps4? Resistance and Killzone.

What? PS4 came out in 2013 and you didn't even have to upgrade to a Pro to keep enjoying new games. If you can't afford a new console after 7 years then you should focus on finding a better job first.
