Yeah indeed, I can't imagine that they have already decided the price for the console. I mean sure they probably have an idea of what the price will be, but not the actual fixed price they want to come out with, when they don't know enough about their competitor.

But just like with performance leaks it's interesting to discuss why one console might be more powerful, or the other more expensive. And if Sony really customised the SSD a lot, and it really is a "beast", then I can imagine that it will cost them. OR Microsoft is just willing to take a higher loss on their console with the idea that they are able to win this back with services in the long run. You're going to see this generation that it's more and more about the ecosystem and really trying to lock you in for the longterm by selling you services. Since that also has a bigger return in the longterm they might just sell the console with a bigger loss.

Damn if Sony doesn't hold an event in February... that actually sucks. Most of this sub prefers Sony (which should be obvious for anyone who reads this forum on a regular basis).

Over the past couple of generations we've seen each major console makers (Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo) make huge mistakes that put them significantly behind -- Wii U, PS3, and Xbox One.. This is the first time where all three seem to have a good idea on where they are headed forward (for at least the next couple of years). I presume I speak for all of us on NeoGaf (and Resetera, or any gaming forum for that matter) that we want news soon. I know people at Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo read this forum and many others! Please release info soon! We are begging for it!

No it’s XseX only that’s just everything currently listed.

Temp prices are very rarely different than release prices. I can see the consoles and camera being a different price but I’m worried about the controller. I haven’t heard anything about the camera that would justify that type of price.

GS does block dating when they don’t know the exact date they just lump a bunch of shit under the one date and change it when needed.

Didn’t Sony say the new controller would have haptic feedback and a better battery and such maybe that’s why the price difference, MS controller only updates the share button and some little changes.

from someone that work as a broker in Montreal (me) for games store. Yes the next console’s are listed but the 500$ stuff and accessories are just place holders, one of my stores have PS5 listed since 2018 at 500$ And just so u know it was the same for ps4 in 2013.. at 500$ well we all kno how it turn out.

I’m not surprised by a more expensive controller. Haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and maybe a microphone on top of everything else is sure to add up.

Oh and just to add something decent, the controller thing is an ever growing issue I have. You want the controllers to get better and pack more in but that’s obviously going to make the prices go up.

The stupid thing is, we are nearly, nearly, at the £100 mark, for a BASIC controller. £99.99 is Supposed to be the sweet spot for a console when it will fly off shelves and yet controllers themselves are nearly there.

Im all for innovation but... bloody hell...
