not Sony - Sony fans on here. There is so much back peddling going on with what people said and are now saying it’s like a match of quake 3 arena. People are dropping right into angry insult mode, and for what? because Xbox bought their a game, and they are still waiting on Sony?

It’s... it’s really quite sad? both machines will be amazing, but yes, the sx will be ahead. By a small number. But people won’t have that, because... I dunno? Reasons..?

Hey guess what. I’ve also said a lot about PS5 based on a few facts and background details too. If that comes right as well, does that make me a PlayStation fanboy?

I’m having a hard time understanding your logic here mate. I’ve done nothing but talk about the spec of both, talk about the facts, and give what I know. I’ve tried my best to leave fanboy rubbish out of it. I’ve never once said that I don’t side with MS over PlayStation, but that doesn’t mean I’m not a Sony fan. This appear to be a hard thing for some of you to grasp; it’s ok to like both, but both, but like one more.

And as for you not seeing any Sony fans melting down, well... I’m not even sure I can reply to that. YoU should work for Trump 🤣

I don't know if this was light trolling or genuine, but I kind of agree with it regardless. After the final E3 before this gen launched, it was not unreasonable (IMO) to wonder if they were trying to replace our 360's or our cable boxes.

I’ve spent more time than most explaining the SSD tech, the cpu and going differences and possible outcomes, as well as talk about actual hardware. I’ve flipped several times between one being better than the other, until with recent info that was both a) leaked and b) told you me, the cards fell where they are now.

You want the posts? Go search for them yourself. But be warned, there’s a LOT of them.

The thing is, Microsofts strategy has been an open secret for like a year and half. The dual SKU one weaker, one cheaper, has been an open secret. How Sony was caught off guard is baffling to me and just makes me think their hubris got the best of them, again.

Nope, it's on you to prove why you were "right". Why did 12 TF come out all of a sudden prove you're right about SSD/CPU? That makes no fucking sense. You're not an insider so stop pretending.

Well, PS fans are angry because MS took the storefront and showed their game while Sony is still keeping them in the dark. But the way you write, it's like today news let them angry as it confirmed Xbox have the edge. We have no new PS specs revealed AT ALL to make any assumption.

I think saying Sony was caught off guard is putting the cart before the horse at this juncture. They might be unprepared for MS announcement, might be on the verge of getting hit hard on price and specs, etc., etc. But they also might be waiting to execute a strategy that keeps their existing audience locked in for next gen by and large. We just don't know, but it is fun to speculate,.

Don't think thy were caught off guard at all. They are just going along with their strategy and time-line. Some of these assumptions are hyperbolic and just funny. Oh nooooo Microsoft gave some info and now the dedicated Sony fans for years are going to up and go to Xbox.

I’m gonna be straight forward here. Sony fans are pissed because they feel they have been kept in the dark too long, and are not really understanding that this is business. It’s not about making you happy, it’s about making you happy in a way that generates the most revenue and biggest buzz. So sony fans are pissed because Ms beat them to the punch.

as for specs... this is an area won’t go massively into, but these specs are essentially what I said before, as had been told to me personally by friends in the industry. The same friends also talked ball park PS5 spec, and those are currently out there in different form. It’s more likely it will be high end 10, low end 11 in tf, with an SSD in the 5-6gb/sec range, rdna2, 16gb memory.

the problem is that both sides have had many multiple dev kits out, and Ms are far behind. Even today they STILL are with regard to getting dev kits out. The Specs talked about today are the same specs I’ve been discussing in closed circles and have spoken about also here.

The ps5 specs I’ve posted above are the same, as well, that’s with the latest dev kit which I’m told is now in final stage with no real big changes coming as it’s already over target spec. Want more? The thermals are also a bit out of whack, and thats one of the things being looked at.

No insider BS, no tags, no photos, paste bins etc. Just me and a bunch of developer friends chatting shit and gaming, as usual.

The ps5 spec with where they are and where they will be will put them close enough in terms of over all power that it won’t make any difference that the sx is high. That’s a bragging right.

but this is all stuff I’ve been saying for a while now, hence why I hit so hard on the SSD talk and certain... posters... shot me down.

That’s no fanboy bias, that’s just talking tech. It appears some people can’t handle that here because it’s not what they want to hear, and for that, I’m just sorry

Wasn't it yesterday that we were getting all of these comments that the PS5 has a more "elegant" solution to raytracing, and that the XSX's raytracing solution was a bit more complicated due to the DirectX implementation?

Yeah MS only has so much info to give. I think being last to reveal is actually an advantage as you can twist the narrative to counteract what your opponent has said. Like who expected the more powerful version to be weak with that tower build? If PS5 is 9tf it'll just be cheaper so why be upset? You know you'll get a great value regardless of which you want

While I'm right there in the same boat with most of you and would like some details with regard to the PS5, really... at the end of the day, does it affect you in any way if we get those details right now or in three months from now? Or even six months from now. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal. Sony probably laid out their schedule for information dumps and are sticking to it. In case no one has noticed, they were getting absolutely hammered for releasing information about games "too soon," then having to publicly adjust schedules. Then they stopped doing the former. I'd imagine they're taking the same ideology on hardware. Keeping things close to the vest also allows them to tinker in private without having to answer questions about why this or that feature that was announced isn't in the machine or doesn't work the way it was announced to work. Whatever. We'll get news when we get news.

I made the comment on that. I heard that around beginning of November last year. I heard when you Used the Hardware RT solution with the Direct X Ray Tracing it was Pain, And very Tedious.

Yet that was what I heard 3 months ago. SDK do get updated. I don’t know if that is still the case or not.

couldn't you say that Microsoft failed in "generating buzz"? Both of Sony's wired articles generated much more conversation on gaming forums and on general social media. Looking at twitter throughout the day, sure this has been covered by gaming sights obviously, but nothing about Xbox has trended today. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, but am arguing it is not generating a lot of buzz outside of gaming circles.

On my Twitter. Xbox is number one trend? as for buzz, of course dont will always get more, they are more liked? But you can’t talk about next gen competition without mentioning the competition 🤣
