So it seems github got the arden cu count correct. So could be solid info overall

Various insiders/pastebins (lol) stated rdna.1 can be discounted as inside info

Various insiders claim double digit tf numbers for both machines seems to be the way to go

So we got github and less insiders as info we can follow although github is rather limited it did have the cu count we assumed for series x

The only thing Microsoft are really missing out of the gate here is VR support but maybe it will be a surprise reveal at e3? Or maybe a year or two down the road? It'll come eventually... maybe not until wireless has become a standard though.

I think they will be watching sony vr performance and sales next gen for sure. It still isnt mainstream enough i reckon

So true, they are now like 3 or 4 media/announcements behind ms.

Ms have done the E3 video of Scarlett, done a few blogs, released a in engine demo and console advert video at the game awards.

Sony have just done 2 wired articles the last one being in Oct 2019 and announcing a dam logo.

And yet they(Sony) are light years ahead in popularity.

Do you really think that xbox as a much weaker and less popular brand could "win" by doing these reveals?

No. They have no other option, unlike Sony which can just reveal a logo and beat MS announcements.

Xbox may sell 1 to 1 vs Playstation at US, but it's more like 1 to 5-10 on rest of the world.

Sony have no worries, they can take their time as few announcements wont turn Playstation gamers into xbots

What? I never mentioned "winning" or stupid console wars. Regardless of who has sold the most consoles this gen, Sony are being the more passive ones regarding the release of information on there next gen console.

What has Matt said? Is it anything new?
He referenced a very specific ray tracing technique called multi bounce ray tracing and asked about things related to VRS. Those are things, that only well trained people ,especially people that are possibly well versed in the matter would ask, a clueless person would definitely not know any specifics related to such matters to ask such a question . And with him being the principal hardware engineer on the PS5, he's definitely onto something and is trying to be as subtle as possible.

Why would 8GB GDDR5 be a bomb...? The fuck...

Edit: oh you mean like when the 8GB GDDR5 was announced. Like a surprise. Ok

So we're looking at a 24GB machine probably.

PS5 shipping with only 24GB of storage would be a bomb for sure 😀

On december 14 2019 Tommy Fisher Tommy Fisher wrote xsx is 12 tf rdna2 . What else u wanted him to say ?literally no one had the balls to say rdna 2 but him lol
He still hasn't given information before it has been publicly revealed or heavily speculated on. It's clear he's making educated guesses and he's gotten those guesses wrong multiple times already. Most recently the Feb PS5 reveal.

Have U heard about corona virus ? Plans do change in face of world wide killer virus lol . Everyone was fighting about 12 tf rdna vs gcn and he said it’s 12 tf rdna 2 .

But he was right ?
So why not give him credit where it’s due ?
Because i dont believe these 'insiders'. Its like, and correct me if i'm wrong here, but apart from the AMD leaks, most/all of the insiders have said PS5 is 12tf, 13tf+ etc, and that the leaks mean nothing right?. So if the leaks end up being true, and PS5 is like 9-9.5tf, that would mean all the leakers and insiders were wrong. I hope it comes true, ONLY for that reason.

Wouldn't it be something if MS had something else up their sleeve when it came to RAM and just wasn't showing it's full hand yet. I mean, Sony did it to them 11th hour with their RAM. Wouldn't that be fun!
I think this is a given considering its one bit of info they haven't released.

Cannot do much about the tflops, they are either there now or not, but they can stick a couple of extra GB in there with a bit of work.

From Audio to Visual, From Gamepad to Console design, PS5 will definitely be more ADVANCED!

ok

In the same way the X1S is more advanced then the original Xbox one?

Like the ps5 would be more "advanced" but the real world implications of a 12 Vs 13tf GPU or a 3gb/s Vs 5gb/s SSD are minimal to non existent, in fact as I've already said the API's will likely have more of a performance impact.

Github leak (not amd ) is correct but it’s out of context and old . U will see soon enough as soon as ps5 is not 36 cu like git hub suggests

Like I've been saying for a long time now, it's best to go with a mix of sources. The Github leak is extremely limited, the only reason to consider it has pertinence is because of the Oberon stepping benchmarks which have provided more context on what was posted there. I.e it's a very dependent source (it's mainly riding off another source, IMO).

So Github, GPU benchmarks (worth noting; several products with specs lining up to the benchmarks have been officially confirmed/announced at one point or another), reputable insiders, reputable Youtube tech channels, reputable website articles (Bloomberg, ITMedia, IGN etc....Forbes doesn't count because they've just had clickbait-tier articles from "contributors") etc seems like a good mix to go with, some with more weight than others.

The harder part would be to figure out what parts from them to take into account and what parts to discard, but it's getting easier to do that when we get official news like today, and patterns in certain results coming about that fit a timeline, among other things.

Wouldn't it be something if MS had something else up their sleeve when it came to RAM and just wasn't showing it's full hand yet. I mean, Sony did it to them 11th hour with their RAM. Wouldn't that be fun!

There's probably a reason they haven't mentioned memory amount or bus figures yet, or SSD speed, bandwidth, storage amount etc. Same goes with price.

Either of these companies can throw around some big surprises. We just hope they are good ones, like today's news has been ;)

I thought Mark Cerny was the lead hardware engineer for PS5? Assuming principal in this context is equivalent to being the lead on the project, and Mark himself said he was lead of the engineering team for PS5.

But I guess Principal could also refer to being a chief member, not necessarily the lead. In any case, it'll be interesting to see what PS5's RT solution is, whether it's RDNA2 or something proprietary, and if the latter, how they've integrated it into the APU.
