They don't. They say that, for a given program, a processor had to compute that number of instructions.

It's exactly the same as O() notation which works pretty well in a "kids" case. But has a lot of problems in more advanced cases (mostly around O(1))

You don't understand running time notation.

Of course wall clock measures memory access latencies, pipeline stalls, etc. That's why it's a bad measure of max theoretical performance.

If your benchmark is spending 90% of time waiting for memory you're not measuring CPU FP performance at all.

That benchmark tests cache and memory times it seems.
There are different benchmarks that test different things. That's why you use a suite of benchmarks to test a processor, like Intel, AMD and NVIDIA do.

TLOU still came out being one of the greatest games of all time even with the changes. It's one of the most awarded games too

Downporting never works. All games today are baselined on 1.84 TF system and then non-essential bells and whistles are added to justify a "better" hardware.
Same for RDR2 which looks good only on screenshots, bad camera angle and you see ugly low-res mess, hexahedral barrels, aggressive LODs, etc.

Good to see this video show how awful the gameplay is.

Sony gamers make it sound like LoU is has the best organic AI. And if you're someone (like me) just going off video previews, it looks like a game with good battle AI. Well, not every day you see bullshot AI. That's usually a graphics thing.

In the video, the guy even says the difficulty was set at the highest too.

Funnest part is how bad the AI's field of attention is. Your guy is literally 3 ft away and the AI is staring at the wall. Or the guy was shooting arrows, an errant arrow hits a wall an the enemy AI runs up and looks at it

Hobbygaming now that is a reasonable point. 2015-2017 xbox strategy was based on the idea that third party studios making multiplatform games would beat the sony exclusives in quality. It did not work out. Since 2018, xbox has ratcheted up its investments.

not so sure about that. currently the switch is killing it and if ps5 is really that much weaker then people will get the next xbox for multiplats alone... and maybe then if a few worthwhile exclusive ps games arrive, people will get a ps5 then, but this will take several years at least.
