The guy right after Lisa Su talked about their design process being more pre silicon, based on simulation and such, how does chip stepping works with that ?

How does it work with the fact that there is so many chips or pieces of silicon attributed to the ps5 ?

You talking about on twitter? Then respond to him on twitter. Or even better leave him and his nonsense alone. Your life will be better for it

What’s this tit for tat shit. Y’all 12 years old?
Why would I need to respond to him on Twitter (which means creating an account for me) when we know he reads this thread anyway?

I mean I wish I could. But people in this thread seem obsessed with their every word so they have to post them here. I wish we could ban that kinda stuff. Ads nothing to the thread, just leads to pages long circle jerks about nothing.
By ignore I mean his tweet.
Don't believe them. Don't argue with him cause you can never change his idea.

Thanks. That would indeed be impressive and make a lot of sense for consoles, because I always doubted that Sony and Microsoft would do a 350W+ console, but rather stick with a 200W or lower console and if it is true what AMD is saying then RDNA2 would definitely be the way to achieve that for series X and PS5.
Yeah, other than RT and VRS I didn't have high hopes for RDNA2 in the perf/watt department. But now it seems that relatively high TFs can be achieved in a console-sized box without worrying about a RRoD situation. That is assuming that the 50% increase is real and not overinflated by AMD.

Does 50 percent more performance per watt mean that a RDNA1 GPU that uses 100 watts would only use 50 watts if it were an RDNA2 GPU?

basically yes. (but not 100 watts to 50 watts, that would be 100% more performance per watt)
it also means it will produce less heat, which is good for consoles

what signs? all we have are rumours, and a chip that was rdna1 can later in development be replaced with a similarity performing chip using rdna2

nothing today gives any indication on how the PS5's final performance will be.

Insiders saying both will be similar.
Both likely going to use RDNA 2 and Navi 2X
PS5 having Ray Tracing, which appears to be only available for RDNA 2.

So the consoles are basically twins. And both will have disadvantages/advantages, and it will come down to software/services and ecosystems. Everybody wins!

It's almost like people have been saying that since last year and some of you kept thinking you'd get a console with 3 TF advantage...

Again, one will have a better GPU but the difference will be minimal. You'll only notice the differences in DF videos! This isn't like PS4 vs XBO or PS4 PRO vs XBO X.

Like you said both will have advantages and disavantages but the experience will pretty much be the same on both consoles. It will come down to games, services, preffered controller, etc. So pick whatever you like more.

Trigger my post if you think DF will make a PS5 RDNA 2 video. Like my post if you don't think they will.

If PS5 is indeed RDNA2 (99% sure now that it is) then the RT would be on par I guess. Keep in mind though that the rumours could be true if Sony has more mature software tools than MS has at this point, an advantage that I expect to pretty much be 0 by the time the consoles release (again if indeed the RT at the silicon level is the same for both).

console almost identical
The api can be better, easier to use and have better performance. So no, we cannot eliminate that possibility.
ray tracing technology not the same but almost on par visual wise

Wait so, I don’t get this red and blue pill thing. Which is the pill for twins? Which is the pill for Xbox leading by a large margin? Which is the pill for PS5 leading by a large margin?

mane do I just take 50 pills on one go if I believe in 9.2?

answers people!!!

similar is a very vague term, if someone said the Xbox One and the PS4 are similar I would agree with them.
and again, how does RDNA2 tell us how many teraflops a console has?
there will be mobile devices using rdna2, and those won't be 12TF just because they use RDNA2...

I said before this feels like DX12 and the Cloud all over again.

Dealer, Colt, Crap, Tim etc. hyped up DX12 and the Cloud for months and it all backfired in their faces.

They ran with the 9.2TF leak and their fans have been celebrating for months. If PS5 turns out to be close in power, the fallout is going to be very entertaining.

I think everything has been shuffled about, yeah. A lot of stuff that was made for
Rdna 2 seems to have moved up etc. Best way to describe is a shuffle about in terms of planning.

Still, 5nm sounds tasty!

Sounds expensive too lol

Who says it will tell us how many TF it has? I said signs are pointing to the PS5 not being 9.2TF, I never said it was confirmed. You're putting forth a lot of what if scenarios after the information we received from AMD.
