The reason you'd delay releasing info about the next console is so that you don't dissuade people from buying the current console. It's why apple waits so long so they don't inadvertently tank thier iPhone sales. Microsoft has already written off Xbox One it's why they're trying to move the generation forward and hit the reset button.

From the perspective of Sony it makes sense but from the perspective of the consumers Sony deliberately wants less informed consumers to buy a soon to be obsolete console.

This is the only plausible and sensible way to see this. MS has given up on last/current gen and desperately wants people to move on to their next console. They lost the battle. Sony still has good games to be released this year for PS4.

So we can expect Horizon 2 on PS5, Spiderman 2 on PS5, God Of War 2 on PS5, Ghost Of Tsushima and for many, that is enough to buy it day 1 KNOWING that is how Sony treats their IPs. Sorry but, Sony got PS5 sales JUST based on what they did with PS4.

You don't move 100 million units and start a bunch of new IPs, without getting them sequels next gen, so you can expect many of those gamers to buy PS5 for the sequels of the very games that SOLD THEM ON PS4!

The numbers don't lie bud. They just don't support their systems with new AAA IP as much as Sony does. Its why Sony has several new IP that moved massive millions of units. Ghost will be next, none of the new IP MS is making this year will move more units or be as massive.

That is why I'm buying a PS5 day 1. Ghost clearly is well funded, no corners cut and not some free to play cash grab, indie looking title like you are seeing from most of what MS is putting out this year.

We might know Godfall is coming to PS5, but many of us are buying PS5 based on sequels we know will likely happen. What they did with PS4 was good enough to have me buy PS5 day 1.

Spiderman 2, God Of War 2, Horizon 2....annnnnnnnd sold day 1. MS has done anything this gen to have me even remotely looking for a Series X day 1, the fact that they are even refusing to make any titles that ONLY are made for the system has made that choice very, very easy. So Sony is the only one even making next gen games btw.
