That doesn’t change the fact that the past doesn’t dictate the future like the PS2 to PS3 example and the 360 to the one. . While your mind is already made up there are likely many that aren’t.
It doesn't, but clearly it gives a good indication of what is likely to happen. No different then those who buy Madden, Call Of Duty etc. They have a understanding of what to likely expect and behave as such.
Sony has a strong history of single player games and supporting their systems...THE WHOLE FUCKING GENERATION, not simply for a bit. Even the system that failed, outsold MS and had a stronger lineup, so even at their weakest, their support of new IP and single player titles was on full throttle. That isn't something that is going to be forgotten by gamers. Not when Dreams, Ghost Of Tsushima are releasing the last year of PS4. it shows Sony like always is deeply committed to new IP and supporting single player games.
So PS2 just like PS3 had new IPs and single player games.
That is the thing that is the most consistent thing about the brand. You can count on Sony to support their system the whole gen with new IP. Its why its a day 1 for many of us. I mean, thats like trying to say you can't count on Madden fans or Call Of Duty fans....buying Call Of Duty lol
So we can expect Horizon 2 on PS5, Spiderman 2 on PS5, God Of War 2 on PS5, Ghost Of Tsushima and for many, that is enough to buy it day 1 KNOWING that is how Sony treats their IPs. Sorry but, Sony got PS5 sales JUST based on what they did with PS4.
You don't move 100 million units and start a bunch of new IPs, without getting them sequels next gen, so you can expect many of those gamers to buy PS5 for the sequels of the very games that SOLD THEM ON PS4!

They not trying to hear those facts
