Not necessarily. Thats up to the developers of each game. Many 3rd party devs will not want to do any work to fix it. That’s Sony’s fault for requiring devs to make it work, unlike Xbox who has a team of people who make it work for the devs.

This statement tells me they have no idea how many games will work, or when, or how. But they are going to figure it out over years. But thankfully, they’re using the PS5 higher clocks to boost games frame rates etc. So I assume almost every Sony published game will work, but we have no idea about 3rd parties.

Good to see them recognizing they failed to deliver a clear message. But there's still a lot of "perhaps", "expect", "eventually", "we believe" etc. in it. It doesn't scream confidence and could mean that they are still very early in their testing phase.

The ray tracing sound will be identical, that chip is doing much more depth, density and quality that you can hear hundreds of droplets of rain simultaneously. Dolby Atmos does around 35? Well, Sony is one of the spear heads when it comes to sound and they do some insane stuff with their TV's in terms of reading the room surroundings to give the best sound possible:





I would go for XH90 though later, although already got two 4K TV's. Every console or refresh means a new TV And the older goes somewhere in the house.

Yeah the confused messaging here was a mistake. They should've have just said the vast majority of the 4000+ games would work as is but we're also validating the top 100 PS4 games to work at PS5 clocks for improved framerates etc.

Don't how this is in other Countries, but in Germany "ein Paar" (a Couple) is two people in love (or a pair of shoes, socks, ...) and "ein paar" (a couple) is a small amount of things - not necessarily just two.

Regarding the console warring, it's probably best to wait for real-world head-to-heads. Both sides are probably working to refine their tools and squeeze every last bit of performance out of these systems, we'll know where everything lands once we can see it. From the sound of it, no one will be left in the dust completely, that's a win. There is some real craziness on twitter now from both sides, from a 2x SSD speed advantage ballooning to seemingly 30 or 40x, to a 15-20% GPU compute difference be leveraged more than any such deficit ever has.

That what happens when you have too much spare time, like me.

I didnt see it as confusing at all when I watched the stream, just as in BC is incoming and they just gave the top 100 as an example that 100 kind of random games work, so rest should not be an issue and some games may need more testing than others because of high clocks.

Not as "we only made the top 100 to be playable, because it is so difficult".

If they would have meant the latter, they would have said it.

Kind of sad that people draw their own and wrong conclusions from clear message.

Maybe it is the way of Cerny talks, he doesnt add useless emotions or show, just pure fact and less logical oriented people could see it as confusing?

I think their mistake was doing a dev style reveal after MS blew their load with the SEX.

Even if you use "GDC" as an excuse, the whole point of GDC is to show tech demos, which Sony could have done, but didnt. If anyone had some sort of visual que of what this nerd talk is all about, everyone would have appreciated what he was trying to convey even if they are not computer-software engineers/artists/programmers (you know the majority of people who are out there)

I am sure whatever First Party games sony is going to publish on PS5 will look wonderful, but for fucks sake, SHOW SOMETHING?!!

They announced on Twitter a dev talk as first video conference of one of the most hyped consoles of all time and after SeX reveal, expecting people to respect etiquette and gently get the fuck out after discovering was all numbers and graphs. After 50 minutes the averages joe didn't understand shit of what he's gonna buy, except PS5 is inferior despite Cerny explaining it has pros, but because he didn't show half pixel only his big brain knows what PS5 does best, which are not the plain numbers showed\the only thing consumers barely got.
And yes they couldn't even properly explain the difference between 100 and likely 2000-3000. I could do that, it's math. Like: look, 3000 is a lot more than 100, be happy. But no. They were fucking clear only on the numbers that put them under SeX.

I think the frame pacing issues will be there (like in pretty much every UE game). But if it can lock 60FPS, you won't notice it as much. The situation of frame pacing being very noticeable is with uncapped framerate.
