Oh shit..

In fairness this was bound to happen, the game has so much customization, I have took it slow to be honest but have still managed to clock in 70 hours or so, if you would have asked me I would have thought it was around half of that, one thing I have noticed is it has taken a while for the game to display the total play time, I have been checking since launch day.

Just got the town hall this morning and can now customize all my wooden furniture, there goes even more time. ;)

This game is such a time sink, and I doubt I have even scratched the surface as yet.

The PERFECT quarantine game innit?! I never thought I’d even put half of that number, let alone 110. Also yeah, I noticed it took a while to display the total play time too. Been checking daily after hitting the one week mark

This game could not have arrived at a better time, as normally I would have had very little time to devote to it.

To be honest I love seeing other players creations, it tends to inspire me to do the same, or in some instances copy. ;)
Yeah I like seeing them too as they also inspire me to keep going and have lots of ideas when I reach to their point

Well, I bought the game and have played for probably 5-6 hours.

I just don't get it. I mostly enjoyed Stardew Valley. I had fun with Minecraft survival mode. But, this? It all seems pointless. It seems to be just doing random stuff on an incredibly small island to unlock cosmetic items.

I've never played or even really looked at an Animal Crossing game before. So maybe the game opens up? Do I just have the wrong mindset?

Maybe I am just not the target audience. I rarely take any interest in purely cosmetic rewards in any game. But from what I've played, I have difficulty imagining this is a game for anything but a very niche audience. That's obviously not the case going by sales, so I just feel like I'm seeing something different than everyone else.

I invested the $60, so I'm determined to give it at least a bit more of a chance.

Looks like the easter event is live, i went to one of my bell trees and it had easter egges instead of money bags.

Seems there's rainbow striped present balloons and they are coming with a lot more frequency, already popped 4 so far and only 10 mins have passed. There's 6 kind of eggs in total but i have found 4 types so far are used in crafting. earth eggs are found the same way as fossils, sky eggs come from easter present balloons and leaf eggs come from bell trees, not sure if any are also hidden in trees to shake free, sea eggs come from fishing. An easter crafting recipe fell out of one of the easter balloons too. Just found Zipper have yet to chat to him.

Get hunting people.

{edit]
Seems if you can craft all the easter event items and show Zipper you'll get a special surprise. Let the time limit stress begin lol.

This game is making millennials feel bad.

The most pathetic generation. Boomers might be annoying, but they made something of themselves, and don't fall apart if a breeze hits them.

If your reaction to seeing someone do something cooler than what you've done, in-game or real life, is to start crying about it and demand that they not be able to do that thing, you should be stripped of any and all legal and social rights of an adult, and placed in the same category as a child.

Muh conditions. Muh Fomo. Muh Anxiety. Absolute garbage, and so is the publication granting them attention.

I've had some real envy in this thread, but all it does is make me grateful that this game can support such cool creations, appreciative of the creators, and inspired to make something awesome myself.

What time is it?
I hope my trash/toilet prison has inspired boomers and millennials alike. /Gen X'er

I bought turnips at 105 and 63 has been the highest so far on my island with the other two options being in the 50s.

Totally see why people would not like it, I have been playing since Wild World and was a tad worried that this game would not offer enough over New leaf, but it seems I was wrong, hope you get into it though, it can be awesome for a fan, I can't remember how many room upgrades I have had over the years, and I still get excited for them.

Imagine being stressed out by the least stressful game imaginable. This game is bringing joy and providing a distraction for many during a real shitty time, but of course, there's a group of people who just can't cope...with anything, ever.

The generation is what it is, but Polygon should be ashamed of themselves for making an article out of it, as if it's any sort of thing worth bringing attention to. Then again, this is Polygon we're talking about.

The hell is mountain time :O?

When you're closer to the Earth's surface at lower elevation, there's less distance to travel for a full planetary rotation, and thus time moves faster. The mountains on the other hand, have a longer distance to travel, resulting in time moving slower.

Simple physics.

What has physics anything to do with this🤔?

I'm not a relativity expert by any stretch, but I understand it's actually the opposite: time is moving faster at the mountaintops. https://www.livescience.com/8672-higher-faster-age.html

But yeah, that's the idea.

So if you landscape your island up too high it'll affect your ability to time travel.

Caught another string fish today unintentionally. These guys are good money makers (15,000 bells) and I'll be sad to see them go tommorrow (though I am looking forward to any new creatures to catch and the easter "bunny day" festivities tommorrow).

A new resident has moved in named Lopez ((he looks like one of those unique african bovine and reminds of a gazelle (is he a gazelle?)). He seems kind of self absorbed to me. I also am going to have a new bridge built by tommorrow so my island will be a bit less segmented (though honestly I think I could use at least two more after this).

Celeste (sister of Blathers) has visited my island tonight. She talked a bit about shooting stars and gave me a recipe for a magic wand saying something along the lines of "it will change you" (perhaps a portable wardrobe?) . Does her prescence mean a shooting star will come? How do you know when and where they will be so you can wish upon them?

5 hours of gameplay later i managed to complete the easter set, man you have to hunt everywhere for eggs. You need a lot too so i recommend getting about 40+ of each. DIY recipes are either in the rainbow balloons, washed up on the beach in rainbow bottles, given to you by a random villager they call you over like they do when they teach you a reaction. Getting a set amount of each kind of egg will give you an idea that unlocks a diy costume for that egg type for you to make, if you get all 6 a extra 7th diy costume will unlock as well.

Once you have found and crafted everything Zipper will give you the last of the missing set which you have to craft and speak to him again to get the final piece, if you show him all 6 types of egg you'll get something too.

Man it looks so nice. Even with the lights out the cozy glow is fantastic, will leave it spoiler tabbed.

There's also some egg fencing but i can't display that indoors.

Hmm thats pretty neat when you order from the online nook store 100 times you get
a shopping app for your phone so you can buy stuff without having to go into resident services
