This game is never gonna come out. I knew this was going to happen since RE3 and Final Fantasy physical copies have delivery issues, it's not difficult to predict that game(TLOU2) that supposed to sell like a bazillion copies will not sell only due to the distribution issues. Doesn't take a scientist to foresee that. Okay I'm going to apply that cold water to burned area now.

It would be ideal for some to just buy the digital version, but this would put retailers in a tough spot with a mass amount of pre-order cancellations.

I couldn’t disagree more. Big games are going to be even bigger due to people just sitting around all day. Look at Bannerlord and Doom Eternal. Not to mention AC:NH. I promise you that even though RE3 reviews are middling that it will sell like hotcakes because of the pandemic.

Meh, this delay isnt a big deal for me. More important things to be concerned about right now. If anything I'll probably still be busy with Snowrunner.

At least they could give the option to get a digital copy if you want to buy a hardcopy and give it to you for free when the time comes.

Nothing to do with download speeds.

Distribution and manufacturing are fucked right now, it doesn't take a genius to work out why. The games that released physically in the last month would have been relatively unaffected due to the fact that discs are printed shortly after the game goes gold.

I don't think the divide would be as big as you think in the current circumstances. People should be staying at home and limiting deliveries to reduce risk of exposure. Buying games digital is the right thing to do at the moment.

This is in NO way a console war event. Microsoft are not going to catch up until they release games. That is the only way this happens. Sony could not release another game for a year and if Microsoft do not put out better 1st party exclusives they've not caught up to Sony.
