Know that they've been arranging all these coordinated "attacks" on PS5 threads (mostly on ERA but sometimes here on this thread too) to spread FUD regarding everything it's said about it.
The "variable clock" thing is just another example of that and I'm sure they'll come up with something else in the future. Sony lives rent free in their heads.

But that is what I don't understand.
Are they stupid enough to think they have any sort of influence? Who the fuck gives a shit what Klobrille or Proven think about the PS5.
NO ONE IN THE WORLD is going to buy or not buy a PS5 based on their concerns.

They can't be that delusional to think they have any sort of influence in someone purchases

I think you are making a good point and if we actually deconstruct the sentence where he says that:

"It's a completely different paradigm," says Cerny. "Rather than running at constant frequency and letting the power vary based on the workload, we run at essentially constant power and let the frequency vary based on the workload."

The “we run at essentially …” part shows how honest a guy he really is on a technical level because in the context of his statement he doesn’t need the word ‘essentially’ to give himself wiggle-room for other circuitry modules in the PS5 that will have slight variation of power draw – like the cooling system working harder in warm ambient temps or the passively cooled items getting a touch hotter resulting in minor fluctuations in power draw. But being someone purveying the whole system design topology, vertically and horizontally he knows the sentence would be less than perfect that way and so would rather disrupt his own sentence flow than mislead even on a tiny technicality (IMHO)

But yeah. MonkeyPunch and BlackBuzzard deserve credit for taking the high ground. I wouldn't want to be associated with grown fan babies either. Trying to spread FUD and take down a plastic entertainment device so you can feel better about another plastic entertainment device you prefer.

It's a giant conspiracy against Sony lol. Just like in 2013 when most of us called out MS for the DRM and. No details. Was that a conspiracy to lol? Sonys can end this white paper with charts of lowest possible clocks and workloads that have the most power values that are problematic. Transparency it is a simple concept. When you hide the details people question why.
