Those are completely different assets. They are not remaking the game.
Look at the foliage and the trees in this photo, it looks the same as the ones in my photo's with almost same textures. Also they are gonna update the textures and with latest Cryengine i expect them to use tessellation on trees like Crysis 3. Now add RT on top of that and we are there, its Crytek after all so i wouldn't be surprised :).

Crysis Remastered will focus on the original game’s single-player campaigns and is slated to contain high-quality textures and improved art assets, an HD texture pack, temporal anti-aliasing, SSDO, SVOGI, state-of-the-art depth fields, new light settings, motion blur, and parallax occlusion mapping, particle effects will also be added where applicable. Further additions such as volumetric fog and shafts of light, software-based ray tracing, and screen space reflections provide the game with a major visual upgrade.

To be honest, this hardware never fails to impress me. The Switch library is filled with "Impossible ports", The Witcher 3 being the most impressive one. A decent Crysis port, handled by the right team, is not completely out of the ordinary.

It's certainly OK to have low standards. No one is judging.

I liked The Witcher 3 on the Switch, even though its visual cutbacks compared to other platforms were pretty damn apparent. I appreciated the fact that a game like this can run on a handheld, and this will be the same case here.

Then again, the best experience will be on PC no doubt. But portability is a key factor for me, and I can stomach some level of cutbacks for the sake of it. If that's not the case with you, that's fine.

Witcher 3 is actually pretty cool in that it lets you share saves between the pc version so you can actually have the best of both worlds in that case.

Yes indeed ! Too bad they didn't do it for console versions as well :messenger_grinning_sweat: I wanted to transfer my Xbox One X save on my Switch but couldn't. Oh well, it was still a fun game to replay tho !

Really hope they do something about the gameplay because I just reinstalled Crysis 1 and it's as just as horrible as I remember from back when it came out. Didn't even finish the first mission and gonna uninstall already.

Crysis is one of my all time fav fps games, and I say this with all the love, I hope this one is actually optimized to take advantage of every bit of our system hardware.

At the very least the peeps with RTX cards should be able to maintain 60fps on high/ultra.

I finished them a few years ago.

They look great but the performance is terrible in some levels, and it is a blurry mess, you definitely dont want that amount of motion blur when the game runs at ... 600p?

Switch will probably be a big leap over these versions.

I did too, mostly out of curiosity, I think even a level was a removed on the console releases. Bit of a feat to even get the game running on them at all.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
I hope they make the suit powers more intuitive, the mode wheel is stupid (don't act like you played the game like that ninja's videos, we have a whole damn keyboard, we don't need some console like wheel menu even if the mouse makes it fast, and there's zero reason to block any powers by switching modes rather than activating things as needed for all actions). Of course without dumbing down the potential and powers like the sequels did. I dunno, maybe being able to do every physical action normally by tapping its key, or with super strength with holding that same key (not too long like charging a super strength jump though, more immediate) and being able to run and jump and reload and slide around normally, or while holding down shift which wouldn't be just sprint but super speed, something like that, with hotkeys for armor and cloak as before, maybe combining more powers. Maybe also fix some level design here and there and connect every map seamlessly without loading new stages and shit, just make it more polished and modern all around, make the AI for soldiers/vehicles/aliens more fun in combat, etc. Don't just make it a bit prettier basically.

It could not have been easier. Middle mouse click an flick to your chosen power. It was seemless and allowed for high speed approaches to situations.

The following games were terrible in that regards. Didnt help that they merged some of powers making it more difficult and providing less choice of approaches.
