I remember being so disappointed with Kojima and feeling betrayed by him with Metal Gear Solid 2 when all the commercials leading up to the release showed you that the protagonist of the game was Solid Snake, and then found out after laboring through the game that it was Raiden instead. More than a screenshot leaked but at the end of the day only about two hours out of a huge game leaked and we don't know if all those scenes will be in the game. Almost every game has a ton of cut content and ND focus tests alternative plots all the time so I think everybody should withhold judgement until the final product is on the market.

It just seems like a waste of time and energy but it's not up to me to tell other people what to do. The way I see it most of us are upset that Joel was killed this early on in the series, we all really liked his character in the first game so they did their job right in that respect, if ND had done a poor job we wouldn't give two shits about Joel being taken out. I was very upset at first too but I've started thinking about it more and more and they are basically making it clear that nobody is safe in this world, that your actions have consequences and that what Joel did at the end of the last game destroyed many more people's lives than it helped. Abby has every right to want to kill him, she see's him as nothing but a villain and any of us in her position would feel the same way. I just think it's hard to get too upset when we've only seen bits and pieces of things some of which may be old and outdated when this is going to be the longest game ND has ever made, they've made plenty of games that have thoroughly entertained most of us for years so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. If after I play it I feel like Druckmann was just stroking his white knight ego with this game I'll be calling for a change at the studio as loudly as everyone else.

And I'd like to say something about the gym as well...

Man, I can't think of... working out... at the gym... in an apocalyptic situation... as being anything but selfish. Unless you are in physical therapy... maybe.

I've slept on this one for a while but it still bothers me. There would be absolutely NO shortage of work in that world. No shortage of crucial projects and people needing things done. This is how you would be "working out." On top of the fact that danger can strike at any moment and you need to be ready to face it. It's not like you have entire army's worth of people to replace you if you can't. When you work out you go through a recovery phase where your muscles are trashed. During this phase you aren't going to be very effective at all for physical labor. This is why many people with very physical jobs, in this relatively carefree present day full of abundance, don't ever go to the gym because they stay busy and can't afford the downtime for recovery since their job provides enough of a workout for them anyway. But In TLOU kind of world?... I just can't imagine actually having the time. Unless you are being selfish and letting other important things go to waist.

I don't know man, that's just something that's just really unbelievable to me. I have to believe that the world would go back to being like the Amish sort of, but actually more intense and with more to do. And I've never seen one of them just sitting around not doing something. Like, Ever. And they certainly don't go to the gym and work out. But good Lord the dudes are some of the physically strongest people I've ever known because they get their workout from their environment. Much like the pioneers, which the Amish take after.

it doesn't really matter it was it wasn't just a couple of screenshots. Even with all the leaks, there's still a lot about the game that we don't know.


That's his real point. 2 hours of footage is only part of a 25-30 hour game. I don't know why people are shouting damage control when what he's saying it's very reasonable.

Yeah, he could have done more research, but his point about being more to the game does make sense.

This is also a very complicated situation because most of the "spoilers" people are sharing is not true. Ellie doesn't die half way through you don't play the entire rest of the game as Abby, Abby and Ellie fight is not the end etc.


If he was going to speak about he game and the leaks, he should've just said there's more to the leaks than what's out there. Either way, I think it good as long as YouTubers don't start making videos about Tory Baker's comments.

Yeah I've made fun of that a few times, myself. I really haven't figured out yet why Abby's group seems to have a massive sports complex with a full gym that's completely pristine this far into armageddon.

As much as list wars can bore me I do wonder what the numerous titles are from each that are on par or better than what ND has done. In the end it's just "my viewpoint better than yours!" but I'd still be interested in what games you mean. And why, is it the actual story, how it's told? For me TLOU isn't the benchmark for storytelling in games because I prefer stories that are told entirely through the gaming experience, any game using any cut-scenes is seemingly admitting they want to make a movie to some extent, something like a Half-Life game (in particular 2) where they create an exciting narrative without removing your control over the camera is pretty much the bar for me. Ignoring my game design principles, though, TLOU gave me something truly compelling that made me not just think afterward but feel. Few games got me as emotional. As far as game stories go it could be my favorite, Red Dead Redemption would be up near it.

All of that said, I want games to tell their stories using the medium and I feel like because it's meant to be a transformative medium the stories should transform as well, games with fixed story-lines annoy me on principle even if I often look past that problem.

Yeah I've made fun of that a few times, myself. I really haven't figured out yet why Abby's group seems to have a massive sports complex with a full gym that's completely pristine this far into armageddon.

yep this alone is so moronic its unbelievable TLOU set up the world as its over no medicine,no electricity, barely any shelter, barely any food, no weapons, rusted cars ever where clogging up the roads. We are shown all of that then we flip to abby's group and these people are living in a freshly restock home good store,Libarary and 24 hour fitness with a Disney park all built in. We went throught half of the country in the 1st game and every everywhere was flooding or destroyed and now for some reason this one random building was untouched right LOL.

You keep claiming people are spreading or thinking certain leaks are true, and are false. Based on a premise people haven't seen the whole game yet.

But then you are doing the same thing trying to counter or downplay rumours and leaks, and you haven't played the game either to see the whole plot.

You're lacking common sense, dude. lol.

We only know a few major spoilers, but we don't know the ending of the game or what's going to happen. We don't know Abby's story, how and why the cult captures her, what happens leading up to Joel's death, the Epilogue, etc. There's MORE to this story than what was leaked online. People who are sharing fake leaks (such as Ellie dying) don't know that there's more to the game and the plot is going to be different than what the plot lot leaks suggest.

Looks like the message of the day is that in a zombie filled apocalypse, everyone's choice of career becomes fitness trainer or janitor. But only a select few are lucky enough to work at a Gold's Gym in a secret location.

If the whole plot hasn't been spoiled since nobody has actually played it yet, how do you know Ellie doesn't die?

One video shows her and Dina with their faces bashed in and it fades to black like it's over.
